Ho'way man, he's a kid, but I understand what you're saying. Someone, somewhere in the Toon setup, must have saw something in him and thought he was one that slipped through the net. However, we did have a keeper shortage in the Summer, so who knows. From what I've seen of him this season he hasn't been very good compared to Alnwick and Johnson. He played for Stockport before Liverpool. Liverpool signed him from Stockport at the age of 14 (FOURTEEN). Looking at his date birth 28/2/93 & the following "Ben joined United in February, 2009" it looks like we nabbed him from Liverpool when was old enough to sign a 1st year contract.
