Guest ItalianMagpie
Not going to happen, just like I said yesterday... We'll get some loans in and we'll get to the 31st without any official statements from the club regarding the takeover. Then Ashley will say he couldn't find a serious buyer and that he took the club off the market.

Consortium of one
OK so Roberts plans would have to be this: He's the front man for a smallish group of well-to-do "fans". They would have to have the financial resources to buy the club themselves. Once they have ownership, they then sell "shares" in the club to regular type fans. Am I figuring this right? Are they hoping to sell it to the fans for a profit?
Guest
A bit annoying that for almost a year now the NUSC has been trying to get Ashley out ASAP pretty much, and then as soon as it looks like Moat is going to buy us, they're willing to support another party and give them more time, seemingly because it suits them.... Sargey
I got this reply from NUSC on Facebook. "Stuart, my understanding is that its the group known as "fanbase" who are going to the media. Rather than have them do that and try and infer some sort of backing from the supporters trust, NUSC appears to be simply confirming that, yes they have met 'fanbase', but that until their bid is shown to be credible in the eyes of the people who are selling the club, the trust will not be going any further with the discussion or giving any endorsement. This seems to be a case of dampening media speculation and getting the facts out rather that publicity seeking. Whether its a pipe dream or not is something 'fanbase' and the club must decide before the trust gets involved. What's important here is that the bid be first established as credible before the trust get involved and this is all NUSC appear to be saying here." Think NUSC needs to speak with SSN and tell them this cause they appear to be using NUSC as a boost for their group.
High Five o
Newcastle, where nothing can be easy and straight forward... If the club was a lass, it would be the worst dramaqueen ever.... Still love her though...
afar
Another no news day then. what a suprise. It's all very distracting though and takes the fans focus and anger off the pressing problem which is lack of squad depth.

spooky
this is obviously a plot by Moat and Shearer "howay lads, the bid isn't quite ready, them load over at N-O will be gonig nuts if we don't say something" "OK, lets make up a rumour, it'll have the advantage of giving them all something to read all afternoon while we sign the papers and do the deal" "k, good plan...how ridiculous can we get?" "oooh, make up a story that they want to be run like barcalona, only to set it up in 2 weeks" "brill"" "what about a fake press conference story?" " don't be daft, thats been done to death, Dave will kill us!"

thewellander
If this Roberts meeting and possible bid is true, it's only going to serve to prolong this sale and keep us out of the transfer window (assuming that Moat's can actually buy the club). What a f***ing fiasco.
Consortium of one
That settles it. I guess I need a fancy name to be taken seriously. I'm calling my group Fans 411 (because I'm one better than Fans 410) and ringing up Mr Pierce again.

What a f***ing fiasco. Not sure if i want people owning us who just wanted to buy A football club. It'll just be the same mess over all over again. # You need to be a fucking black belt at club ownership to run this mad house, not some jacky that turns up for one lesson. What a f***ing fiasco. At this point in time I would sooner Ashley just called the whole sale thing off. The press are already saying the moat deal is unlikely and we really need to concerntrate now on the season, there's only 12 days left of this transfer window and we need a manager and some semblance of a squad. Agree I just cant see how this model can feasibly work within a 12 month period let alone 12 days
