Incognito
You see,i can't make head nor tail of Ashleys handling of the club, everything he's done has been detrimental to the club in some way.The things that we feel are right,he's shot them down in flames shortly after..ie Keegan,Shearer.. JH
Why would he throw away shit loads of money and his reputation for a bet? He wouldn't make any money, just break even if that and he's tarnished his name and Sports Direct as the guy who got Newcastle relegated. Bets, secret agents, having a laugh, it's all a load of bollocks. He's just an inept twat tbh

He couldnt have done a worse job if he tried, its almost like he's done it deliberately and now he will cut his losses and screw every last penny he can out of the club. I'm sure this will be used as a case study at management seminars in the future along the lines of how not to run a successful business
ikri
You see,i can't make head nor tail of Ashleys handling of the club, everything he's done has been detrimental to the club in some way.The things that we feel are right,he's shot them down in flames shortly after..ie Keegan,Shearer.. He's a gambler. He took the risk that the players we had would be enough to avoid relegation, that gamble failed in spectacular fashion. I don't believe that he had any malice in his actions, but his actions do appear have have a number of things in common with someone addicted to gambling 1. Preoccupation. The subject has frequent thoughts about gambling experiences, whether past, future, or fantasy. 2. Tolerance. As with drug tolerance, the subject requires larger or more frequent wagers to experience the same "rush". 3. Withdrawal. Restlessness or irritability associated with attempts to cease or reduce gambling. 4. Escape. The subject gambles to improve mood or escape problems. 5. Chasing. The subject tries to win back gambling losses with more gambling. 6. Lying. The subject tries to hide the extent of his or her gambling by lying to family, friends, or therapists. 7. Loss of control. The person has unsuccessfully attempted to reduce gambling. 8. Illegal acts. The person has broken the law in order to obtain gambling money or recover gambling losses. This may include acts of theft, embezzlement, fraud, or forgery. 9. Risked significant relationship. The person gambles despite risking or losing a relationship, job, or other significant opportunity. 10. Bailout. The person turns to family, friends, or another third party for financial assistance as a result of gambling. His actions meet more than a couple of those criteria. midds
As horrifically bad as it's turned out I refuse to believe Ashley's thought this through and planned to get us relegated. He's just got in way over his head and panicked. The people he's left to run the club day-to-day have been inept and we're in the shit until he fucks off. But he never planned any of it. But he has attempted to darken the name of a Newcastle legend, and in doing so,turned us against him,Ashley, bringing instability to the club..anyone with half an amoeba for a brain, would know not to treat Keegan the way he did, last summer. So, for me,all part of the plan. The point is that Shearer's appointment could easily have re-invigorated the players and seen us drag ourselves to safety. Daft move if he wanted to relegate us, and not one that would be in keeping with evil genius persona you seem to be building for Fat Mike.
