Even though Arsenal are perceived to be a pretty passing side

They actually amassed less passes than Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham.

Can anyone give an "explanation" of why so ?

???

Because they've had a relatively poor start to the season?

And they're still 5th on the passing stakes.

Because they've played one less game.

People act like Liverpool and Chelsea are long ball teams but they are 1 and 2 in the league in passes completed. The truth is that both of them control the match and kill the other team off by dominating possession of the ball. Man U and Arsenal are more attacking but do not dominate possession as much.

Have Bayern Munich been playing Van Buyten striker this season or something?  He scored another 2 today.   ???

Sure there was a run for Marseille when we were linked with him where he scored about 5 in a row for them.
