sempuki
Can still make the playoffs but the Conference looks stronger this season.
Guest
6 off the Play-Offs with 3 games in hand. They'd probably get there if they'd had Campbell all season.
sempuki
Rotten result today. Not sure they will make the playoffs this year.

Guest
Didn't realise James Marwood left St-Mirren to go to Forest Green. Shame Gateshead didn't get him back.

sempuki
Marcus Maddison has done very well for Peterborough this season - hope the Heed have a sell-on clause.

Guest Roger Kint
Marcus Maddison has done very well for Peterborough this season - hope the Heed have a sell-on clause. You asked that before on the same page as the first time Marcus Maddison scores another cracker for Peterborough. Hope the Heed have arranged a decent sell-on fee. Fwiw Looks like they've done well out of it. Gateshead forward Marcus Maddison has signed for League One club Peterborough United on a permanent deal. The 20-year-old leaves the International Stadium for a club record fee, and the sizeable six-figure sum is likely to rise due to various add ons. The Heed also have a 20% sell-on clause for Maddison, who has agreed a four-year contract with The Posh.

Pilko
Forest Green have been the richest in that division for a while now and never really threatened the top six much at all. Hockaday was supposed to have done really well there, but in reality he had a massive budget for that level and kind of underdelivered with it. Guest
I notice Matty Pattison gets a lot of stick from their fans on the club's official facebook feed.
Dr.Spaceman
He's a strange one. Canny on the ball, but tends to make some odd choices at times. He likes a good 30 yard raker as well.

Disappointing they've got rid of their snide Barça badge.
Guest
Not sure if Mills has lost it or not but I notice Campbell was sub today.
Dr.Spaceman
Lost it? Nah, he picks his team based on who the opposition is. Fact is, Campbell is very average. We signed Gooch in loan from Sunderland who is a much better player.

I wouldn't say he's not good enough for the league, he just doesn't look better than anything else we've got at the moment.

Can't see the Heed making the playoffs this season unfortunately.
Guest
Look North saying Mills has been given permission to speak with Wrexham. Big loss.
Dr.Spaceman
I had a feeling he wouldn't be here next season. Screwed now, although we had 70 applicants when Anth Smith got the boot last time round.
joeyt
Any reason why Wrexham are a more attractive proposition than Gateshead? Other than them being in the football league more recently
Heed
From his point of view they have a bigger fanbase, easier to attract players to (reputation, further south), better ground & it looks better on his CV to advance his career (Manager of recent ex-league club Wrexham Vs Manager of little Gateshead). From our point of view it feels like a boot in the teeth, especially his unnecessary comments to the local Wrexham newspaper yesterday. If it goes wrong for him down there (unlikely), it'll now be very hard to comeback to us with any respect from the fans, players & I'd imagine the Chairman. As for the 70 or so who applied after Smith hoisted the white flag, the majority were dross who apply for anything and everything gong, and the few ok candidates are now employed elsewhere. Dr.Spaceman
If we turned down people who are now managing in League 1, I think we'll get someone semi-decent.
