Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Can anyone confirm how we are currently lined up? 4-4-2 or 4-5-1? 4-5-1 And something strange is going on with Lovenkrands
Big Geordie
4-5-1 according to Radio Newcastle. Lovenkrands playing wide left, with Geremi wide right. Game sounds dead to be honest. Half Time. Our lot need a huge kick up the backsides. Going through the motions. So glad I decided not to go.
garth
Hughton's a gutless wonder playing 4-5-1.
Jayson
We're crap creatively with one upfront. We struggle to create or find him, this is simple nonsense. Everytime we lose it we're trying to find Carroll. Wtf would he play Lovenkrands on the wing & 4-5-1? Hes gone nuts.
afar
According to the beeb Plymouth had had 55% possesion and more shots on goal than us. This is the team that's bottom of the league, we should not be struggling like this, even though we are leading, this is exactly the opposition we should be putting away. ChezGiven
Soft goal and a shit performance against the bottom team. Unless Hughton is instructing the team to conserve energy and avoid injuries because of the squad issues, doesnt bode that well.
Belfast Boy
Hoping for Ranger on 2nd half, need to get a 2 goal cushion before sitting back.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Sounds like the trouble with Lovenkrands is to do with match fitness. Lee Ryder: The Dane is starting his first game since last season and is far from fully match fit after a couple of sub appearances. He's been struggling to get to grips with the pace of the game from the start and in making several bursts forward has not been able to get back as quickly as he should be. Nolan, Enrique and Calderwood have all been trying to get their point across not to make the run if he can't make it back.
Jayson
Because getting back should be instinct to a pacey foward who normally hangs around the oppositions goal ?

Unless Hughton is instructing the team to conserve energy and avoid injuries because of the squad issues, doesnt bode that well. Genuinely reckon that the likes of Nolan, Smith and Butt are having a far bigger say in how we line up than any players should. Easiest way to accomodate as many of the "veterans" as we can by sticking 5 in midfield at all times.
Dave
Average as fuck. You'd not know which team was in the Premier League last season. Yes we're leading and yes Harper's had nothing to do but to say we're hoping for promotion and this is one of the worst teams in the league so far it's pretty fucking poor IMO. Why play him on the wing and expect him to track back if he's short of match fitness then? This is quite annoying. I just hope we get the 3 points. Some ppl are always critical of many situation can any of you guys think for a second we don't have any adequte strikers in this football club? Jayson
Hes just sitting back on this 4-5-1 formation for no reason now, its very strange. Seems desperate to accomodate Nolan being behind the striker rather than in midfield tbh.
ShearMagic
Our strikers are useless too, which doesn't help.
