Guest Heneage Posted December 29, 2009 Share Posted December 29, 2009 1) BEST TOON DEFENDER FROM THE LAST DECADE Johnothan Woodgate- calm composed and got Bramble playing as well. 2) BEST MIDFIELDER Laurent Robert- Just such an exciting player to watch, his goals were always spectacular and he was one of the last traditional wingers in the game. 3) BEST STRIKER Shearer is too obvious, so I'll say Bellamy - I love to hate him but when he played for us you there was sjust something about him. 4) BEST OVERALL PLAYER Solano- he was 2nd to Robert for Midfielder, but as a loyal player he's one of the few I believed when he kisssed the badge. Fantastic technique and always did his best. 5) BEST MANAGER Doesn't need answering really, Sir Bobby. 6) MOST DISAPPOINTING PLAYER Emre- more injuries than a lack of talent stopped him I think having watched him for Inter I just expected more. 7) WE SHOULD HAVE SIGNED... Torres instead of Owen- sounds obvious now but the team at the time needed a bit of pace, not a player with his best days behind him. 8) WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE LET GO... Gary Speed- he still had years in him and was a leader, players like him don't come along often. 9) BEST HOME GAME Sunderland the season before last, my first derby and within 3 minutes the nerves are gone. But if we'd managed to sign Rooney just before Sir Bobby left - even though we didn't really need a striker, things might have been different. 8) WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE LET GO: Speed. Given didn't really matter, we were down. 9) BEST HOME GAME: Maybe that Man Utd one. 2-1 at home to Chelsea (Shearer wondergoal) is a personal fave of mine however. 10) BEST AWAY / NEUTRAL GAME: Leeds 4-3/Arsenal 3-1.
