Keefaz
That fact is that Nolan just can't operate effectively in a midfield that comes up against a much more aggressive and pacey opposition.
Heron
Will the Hughton doubters be happy when we've gained promotion, btw? Or will they complain that he won''t cut it in the Premier'?
David28
Bringing on Butt when having players like Routledge (?), Ranger and even Best on the bench should earn CH the sack. Routledge clearly not fit, only on bench in desperation like Jose. Which of Best and Ranger would you have used to help our overrun midfield and makeshift defence? Was more of a joke like anyway. But honestly, I think bringing on Butt today probably was needed. But I would have wished that he would have brought on a striker (Best or Ranger) earlier and would have gone for the win. Pilko
Chris Hughton was brought in as Keegan's coach, remember. Coach under Keegan Caretaker manager #1 Coach and assistant manager under Kinnear Caretaker manager #2 Lower-level coach under Shearer Caretaker manager #3 - given no indication of his future Manager In the space of about 3 years. Other men would have walked away, so those saying Hughton has no bottle or is 'spineless' clearly don't know what they are talking about.
Keefaz
You mightn't like his tactics or even rate him as a manager, but I think as a man and servant of the club he's top drawer, tbh.

Pilko
Parky, you are a prize tit. What part of 'could have walked away' equates to 'had job offers from elsewhere'? Keegan walked off and he didn't have another job lined up.

Keegan walked off and he didn't have another job lined up. Why would he walk away? For the same reason Keegan did, he was constantly pissed about by Ashley (and the various managers he employed willy nilly) and as I illustrated above, his position at the club changed about six or seven times in under three years. Ashley also totally undermined him by stating 'Hughton and Calderwood are in charge till the end of the season' and then appointing Shearer midway through that period. Whether he was right to do so or not is another argument.
Parky
Coaches hang around at clubs through all amounts of nonesense and often preside under many managerial comings and goings. Suddenly we're handing out medals for this??! Ha ha...You really are silly. Gone by Nov.
Teasy
Bringing on Butt when having players like Routledge (?), Ranger and even Best on the bench should earn CH the sack. Routledge clearly not fit, only on bench in desperation like Jose. Which of Best and Ranger would you have used to help our overrun midfield and makeshift defence? That's the thing though, in the few minutes leading up to the substitution we'd gone onto the front foot and were starting to put pressure on them. Hughton obviously didn't like that and brought Butt on to ensure we would't go in front..
TRon
The Butt decision looked on the surface a terrible decision, but we were playing awful before he came on so the major gaffe by Hughton didn't really turn out to be one as it turned out. Other than that the bad football seemed to be down to injuries and poor performances especially from Guthrie, Nolan and Carroll. It can't always be Hughton's fault if the players don't turn up. If it hadn;t been for a long boot into the middle by chance falling to one of our players we would have lost.

Heron
The thing people don't realise is despite Nicky Butt being past it and seemingly thick as pig-shit at times, he has a lot of experience and he talks to the rest of the team. We needed a leader and in him coming on we got one. I'll be the first to admit I was thinking "what the fucks Hughton doing?!?!" Butt he obviously did the right thing. P.S. I cannot believe the amount of shit people come out with at times, he brought Butt on to stop us winning...fuck off man.
David Icke - Son of God
He's done well to keep Butt out of the side recently, I assume he got a bit light headed and tried to make us a bit tougher to break down by bringing on a defensive midfielder. Problem is that defensive midfielder was Butt. Nee point crucifying him for one bad decision.
Frazzle
Lets hope Parky is as wrong as he was about Benitez and Hughton stays for another 2-3 years.

When you chuck in Nolan who is the same, it's hardly surprising the football is dire sometimes.
