Ronaldo
He's still young and seems to get goals in the championship, not exactly impressed though.

Ronaldo
8 goals in 26 games is better than two of our strikers tbh.
Guest dazzanufc1892
8 goals in 26 games is better than two of our strikers tbh. Not good enough if we go up, pointless in the long run
Skirge
When a Beckford deal could still be on and we get Best am gutted
Ronaldo
None of our strikers (or most of our midfielders) are good enough in the long run, we just aren't going to lure premiership players here with Hughton as our manager and the implemented wage cap. Guest dazzanufc1892
Agreed, but we have missed out on 2 potential signings, because we wont take a risk and go for it. Beckford is a 50/50 shout, but moses could cut it, its blatent. If ashley gets this one for a 750k, and then has to spend 3mil on another second rate striker when we go up, wheres his gain?! We could have gone in hard and signed moses and beckford for around 6mil and had a hell of a shout next year at some goals. I dont believe anybody who says moses would have chosen wigan over us. No point in blaming Hughton when the Moses deal fell through because the board wouldn't sanction it.

TRon
I never mentioned the Moses deal. ok, but my point is we could have got the players we wanted but it had nothing to do with Hughton's failings, premiership players or not.

Ronaldo
All i'm saying is, we're not in a good position to sign premiership players as things stand. Hughton is part of that.

Skirge
12:35 Helen Dalby: Lots of questions and speculation about the possible return of Darren Ambrose to Newcastle. We have nothing confirmed on this, and the understanding from our sports desk was that Hughton's priority today was to sign a centre forward.

He's still only 25 years old aswell, I reckon he'd be a decent squad player for the PL, v. good for the CCC, but i'm not sure if he could step up (again).
