We can't be caught. CHAMPIONS.

20 points clear of 3rd, and to think what the likes of Kamara and Caulkin said about our promotion hopes.

Don't think anyone on here, including you, expected us to bounce back so emphatically just before the start of the season.

Perhaps not, but I voted that we'd finish 1st tbh.

Your predictions 3 days before the season started say Boro and Reading would finish in the automatic promotion spots, that our top scorer would only get 6 goals and you seem to imply you expect us to be in League Two within two years.  Doesn't sound particularly optimistic to me

Automatic promotion in one form or the other

Up yours, the other post was made when it looked like Colo, Enrique and Jonas could all be leaving.

can't remember any bids for any of them, we had a pretty settled squad going into the start of the season.

And presumably Kamara and Caulkin couldn't have thought the squad was going to be further weakened when they were downplaying our chances of the Championship?

For what it's worth I can't remember those three being seen as imminent departures all at the same time.

As I said, players were dropping like flies, especially the foreign contingent. When Colo missed out against Leicester, we assumed he was gone.

how were they dropping like flies ?

i don't remember any suggestion that any of them would leave.

Caulkin said there was no chance of us going up, Kamara suggested we'd struggle in mid-table with P'boro going up.

maybe the recently lauded caulkin is as much a fly by night as the rest then but now hes saying nice things about us.

I thought we'd spend at least 5 years out of the Premier League and probably drop down a division for a season in that time.

I'm delighted to have been proved utterly and totally wrong. :)

Caulkin said there was no chance of us going up

When?  Can you find the article?  Can't find him making a definite prediction like that in the turmoil pre-season and all of his predictions shortly after the season started still seem pretty positive, with the proviso that you can't rule out further stupidity from Ashley or a sudden sale of players.

Don't kid yourself, man. Visit a forum twice a week and have a go at those of us who spend thousands on the club if you wish.

It's a predictions thread, it's no easier to predict than the lottery.

Does Ronaldo get paid for these predictions like? If so then he should rightly leave, but as I see it he's a fan with an opinion, at least he backs his up with stats and not just '' in a line.

Don't really understand the criticism, a lot of people thought we would struggle this season.

Pre-season we were all expected a real battle and we were tired of hearing how tough the Championship was to get out of. We also had a team with no spirit or organisation and that was leaking goals all over the place. With a totally unproven manager to boot.

Happy to admit I thought we wouldn't get promoted, happier to be proved wrong.

cant wait til Boro win us the league this weekend!

and am sure more than just ronaldo thought we may struggle.

I had us 4th or 5th at the start. Like most i imagined more sales and upheaval and didnt expect this league to be as terrible as it is. At least Ronaldo wasnt one of the 'we are going down again' gang ;D
