Forgetting the huge amount spent and some of the dross it was spent on for a moment, he did a good job there all things considered. Liverpool need to accept that although they are a big club, they are not one that can seriously challenge anymore. Their 18 titles and 5 European Cups mean nowt these days. The season they finished 2nd was some of the best football I've seen from a PL side.

You can't rate a manager while completely discounting all the players he bought and the money spent on them .

It depends, were they definitely his signings? They were absolutely atrocious signings like. Lallana's absolutely crap imo, the personification of overrated English hype.

Grim though it was, I was actually kinda rooting for them when they had a shot at the title. It would've been a very minor victory for football. They were shite under Dalglish; upgraded the manager, bought well and hung onto their prized assets - and it nearly got them the title.

I can't speak for what has become of their playing style or motivation but their transfers since then have just been a death sentence for Rodgers. Balotelli for Suarez was a total car crash.

I dont think he's a particularly bad coach like. Swansea played really good football and even when in the last two seasons, things haven't been great, they've still played some decent stuff. However his downfall has been the fact he's build an absolute piss poor squad. He's wasted so so much money on players that either don't fit his system i.e Benteke or just downright rubbish. Their squad at the minute is painfully average considering the money he's spent. Right decision by Liverpool.

Look at some of this rubbish man:

Lovren 20M, Aspas 7M, Balotelli 16M, Markovic 19M. Even Firmino at 30M has looked poor although its early days.
