Interpolic
Hmm, pretty sure I'd prefer the group format if/when we get back in the CL. 6 games against some of the best sides in Europe, guaranteed.
Disco
Well say if Man Utd and Barcelona are clearly the standout best teams on the continent one year - and particularly if it's entirely a knockout competition like people are saying - then it's a bit of a gutter for the neutral if one of those sides goes out first round by virtue of drawing each other. Aye, they've got a difficult balancing act between entertainment and equality. Whatever way they go about it, there'll be complaints. Man U could play Barca in the last 16 anyway. Last 32 straight knock-out with no seeding. Last 64 with the Europa League. Group stages means more games which is cool but they're generally wank anyway. Knock-out is always where it gets entertaining. Waffa should be flat out knock out for starters IMO, if any teams seeded should be cup winners since they binned off the CWC (another piss poor decision). CL I agree with, albeit with less teams involved from the 'big' leagues. It's only serving to help make all leagues that aren't the big 4/5 totally shite. Interpolic
Can remember most people hating the cwc and thinking it was a joke in its latter years tbh
Dokko
Can remember most people hating the cwc and thinking it was a joke in its latter years tbh It did a bit, just like Europa league now, CL is everything. I still thought it was good, but uefa cup footie for me is great when you are in it.

Guest Phil K
f***ing brilliant, no england managers job and no champions league hopefully loss of revenue send spurs the same way as all his previous teams, championship and broke... add to that discontent among spurs fans who want rid of harry. They're now in no better position than we're in. Their chairman who was fantastically supportive of Harry R in the past won't be able to give same support with no CL football. He will have his work cut out to hang onto Bale and Modric let alone unsettle our players (like last season) as they are no further up the food chain than us. Mick
The CL drop-outs coming in helps to compensate for the fact that there's more places in the CL than there used to be so the quality of the second tier competition is watered down, but it's a completely backward way of going about it really. Most of the weaker teams in the CL look as if they might struggle in the Europa.
