ponsaelius
I was too young too see it, but he is famous for a Cádiz - Barça game where he was initially left out after showing up late for the game. After we went up 0-3 he was introduced and scored and assisted twice to make it 4-3 to them. That's just ridiculous.
LiquidAK
Fun fact: Barça B was promoted once to Primera. It's forbidden by our rules but Barça spun it off and it became an independent club so they could be eligible. They got relegated the next season. What would happen if Barca were ever to suffer relegation and Barca B were in the Segunda already, VI? Seeing as they're not allowed in the same league. In that case the B team gets relegated. It happened the year Atlético got relegated. If they finished top of Segunda, and Barca bottom of La Liga, could the 'B' team be in a higher league than the 'A' team? No, both would get relegated so Barça would play in Segunda and Barça B in Segunda B. Man, I feel uneasy writing this...

Village Idiot
Shame, they should make it possible to do swapsies. It has sorta happened with clubs relegated due to financial reasons. Current Málaga are actually the former Málaga B.
Ketsbaia
Question time again. You know much about 'Magico' Gonzalez, the Salvadoran that played for Cadiz? Was he as good as they say? Dean Windass Hall of Fame

Village Idiot
Barça had their general assembly yesterday, where accounts - including the due diligence made after the new board took over - where presented. They confirm €79m in losses and set our debt at €430m. In a dead-heat vote, the general assembly asked the club to take the former board to court regarding our losses. Sometimes democracy is just bad.
AliGupter
I've always wondered, why do Xavi and Iniesta swap numbers for Spain?
Village Idiot
They don't really swap numbers, Xavi has worn #8 for Spain way before Iniesta wore #8 for Barça. Xavi couldn't pick #6 for Spain due to veteran precedence (and it was owned by none other than longtime captain Fernando Hierro). Xavi chose to keep #8 after Hierro retired and later on Iniesta went on to pick #6 (Euro 2008 I think). Dunno why Xavi keeps #8 though, I suppose it has some sentimental value to him as the number he used when he became a Spain regular.

According to our sports law, the boards of fan-owned clubs are responsible for the losses incurred during their stewardship of a club. In this case the debt has increased €50m in 6 years (actually negligible for today's standards). This provision was introduced so elected presidents would have a degree of accountability, however I believe this is the first time in 20+ years it is called upon. Laporta's stewardship of the club had been good until the last couple seasons where he truly lost the plot. Some of the stuff that came off the audit regarding private parties, spying on rivals inside the board, etc... is pretty damning. That said, I think this is a very bad idea, as it will divide the club.

Cheers, makes sense, it's just always annoyed me slightly, but then when you see them with the ball they could have any number on their backs and I wouldn't care. Village Idiot
Henrique looked pants in the preseason games he played for us, but always wondered why we never took Keirrison for a spin at least. Well, both were signed behind Guardiola's back and I think it's obvious he doesn't want anything to do with them.

Village Idiot
Hey, he hasn't even trained with us Actually I think we did fine given the circumstances. The loan to Benfica wasn't a good one since he wasn't getting a game there so we recalled him and loaned him to Fiorentina. They chose to terminate the loan early, so I guess he just isn't adapting well to Europe. Now, I think we should have taken him in preseason with us this year before dumping him back to Brazil. It was just a puzzling signing. I'm damn sure that it was brown-enveloped since Henrique had the same agency repping him and it was an equally pointless buy. A spell back in Brazil might do him some good. Give him a couple of years and he might be right again to move to Europe, as with a lot of Braziillians he probably just moved too early. ponsaelius
been very impressed with Gonzalo Castro of Mallorca...had a very good game yesterday too VI rated him on here in the past, and I agree with him, he's looked quality whenever I've seen him. We could probably get him relatively cheaply aswell. Another player we were linked with in the summer who signed for Mallorca is De Guzman, he's quickly became their most most important player this season. Laudrup is basically building the team around him.
