Village Idiot
He sort of disappeared from the Spanish newspaper he writes for, but seems to have resumed normal service this month. Guess he wanted to take a breather. Yes, average midtable s***. They started out the season quite horribly but have bounced back to what I would consider their level. They are a rather small team when it's all said and done, the fact they managed to compete in the upper reaches of the table (and brought home some silverware) was a bit of an anomaly (which almost bankrupted them too). Great for the fans, mind.

Village Idiot
Yeah, their president was either astute/foolish/a cunt depending on who you ask, but got them competing with managing to get some very impressive names in their teamsheet over the years. And it seems they have "landed" safely after flirting with financial trouble these past years (still think they should dedicate a street in La Coruña to NUFC for the money you gave them over the years). QBG
Aye we've given them a fair wedge, like you said nice for the fans to have success for a short while and still land safely on their feet. That Guardado they've got there is a decent player.
Village Idiot
Laporta is now an MP in Catalonia. This is going to be fun.
Guest neesy111
Laporta is now an MP in Catalonia. This is going to be fun. Hasn't he got a court case against the new board to fight as well. Seen that he's been banned from the corporate area's at the club as well.

Seen that he's been banned from the corporate area's at the club as well. Yes. Hence why him being an MP is going to be fun. He isn't going to have any kind of influence in the actual lawmaking but he'll surely give headlines.

Village Idiot
Best thing is that after Mou said that all teams that go to Camp Nou throw the game, they are the ones that put up the least fight After saying that Villa is as big as a flop as Benzema, he gets a brace Keep yer mouth shut next time! Village Idiot
Interesting bit of trivia I just realized about the last 3 times we beat Madrid 5-0: 1974: Reixach and Cruyff in the pitch 1994: Reixach and Cruyff manage, Guardiola in the pitch 2010: Guardiola manages

Village Idiot
That their best season in half a century still sees them behind us. Barcelona derby coming up, too. And yes, we lost to them today in that tin pot Catalan cup.
Village Idiot
Several La Liga matches scheduled this weekend - including the Osasuna - Barça - in danger of postponement due to the *massive* air traffic controller strike that's shut down Spain's airports. Village Idiot
Our match hasn't finally not been postponed, but utter shambles from us as we didn't plan an alternative way of travel and we might not make it in time and lose the game for no show. Still can't believe it has come to this, since the strike was already known yesterday evening. Somebody has to take responsibility.
