Disco
I doubt Lyon would sell at the moment as they have a lot of injuries upfront (as said by their players on Champs League weekly) with Fred and Benzema (or somthing like that) out for a while. I agree though he would be a good buy
Guest
We have lots of striking injuries yet Luque will still go in January I bet. If a player is out of favour, unhappy, etc. it doesn't matter if there's 2 or 22 strikers available to the club, he'll leave.

Guest teepee
i've never rated him - from what i've seen he wont be any good to us, and probably would demand silly wages - no thanks!
Mikky
Lyon have a lot of injured strikers at the moment (Govou, Fred etc) don't think he will be sold
Geordie Boot Boy
He would be a good signing IMO. Not a prolific goalscorer but he could be a good foil for Martins.
Guest JamesD
"I don’t want to leave for the same struggle as I have known at Valencia and Rome before joining Lyon." that should just about end all speculation of him coming to us.
Conjo
Carew would be ideal for us. Despite his height and immense power, he is fast and has a pretty good technique. Scored an excellent goal against Serbia and montenegro where he outpowerd and outran Vidic, before he put the ball hard up in the corner from some distanse. Only aber I can see, is that he isn't a profilic goalscorer...oh, and he probably wouldn't come here anyway.
M4
1956: GOAL Real Madrid 0-1 Lyon Fabio Cannavaro makes a hash of a tackle on John Carew who powers in on goal, holds off two more defenders and fires into the bottom corner. ... huh

Lyon certainly know how to beat them.
Guest dasflenst
Yeah, class goal that. He scored an audacious goal at the Bernabeu last season as well didn't he? Some kind of back heel from 6 yards out, Cassilas helpless.

Guest the_serbian_mag
Carew scored against Serbia in Belgrade just last week. Class goal too! Tonite he held the ball towards the end of the game, like Shearer loved to. Real Madrid lucky to get a draw, although van Nistelrooy missed a penalty in the 90th minute. Lyon playes the game I'd love to see Newcastle play.... blueyes.gif
Guest Phil K
Chim-chiminy chim-chiminy chim chim Carew. Seaton Carew ? Lyon playes the game I'd love to see Newcastle play.... Yeah, and we could have had Houllier as manager too, quite easily instead of a clearly not-good-enough Roeder. He was hinting apparently, but with turd Shepherd as chairman.... Lenny
I thought Carew looked superb last night against Madrid, whenever he was on the ball they just couldnt get the ball off him! He was so strong, and good with his feet for a big bloke!
