I heard he has tendonitis in his knee and has been having some serious treatment on it.

Thought it was bollocks but his knee was heavily strapped yesterday and he certainly wasn't 100%.

If true could explain why he bottles every challenge, 50/50 and gives up on seemingly easy to win foot races at the moment.

How long has he apparently had it again?

His game relies so much on Enrique doing his productive work for him.

...and vice versa.

I'm not sure what you mean seeing as Jonas is so unproductive

Vice versa. So much of Enriques play relies on Jonas. Defensively, and as an outlet.

As in Enrqiue has to do all the defending on the left flank?  :iamatwat:

I thought that's what you meant.

The only part of Enrique's game that Jonas contributes a lot to is the attacking, primarily because he waits for him to do most of it.

How expected.

He's clearly injured which isn't good even though his delivery is poor he opens up a lot of space for us with his dribbling. I think he's burned out after a long 18 months tbh he's had little to no time off.

If this thread stays as it has done since he started playing for us, then I'll be happy because he's good enough for me.

Given that creativity at home against defensive sides is arguably our weakness, he certainly isn't the least of our problems.

Just for that reason you've given i'd say a pacey striker to partner Carroll, Kevin Nolan to produce more than just goals and a right winger are all bigger priorities and problems ahead of Jonas' quality. Repair all them first then we can focus on Jonas, if he were the weak link in all that i'd be delighted.

If you say 5 positions in the team make up the core attacking ability only Carroll is good enough (for our future ambitions) granted, but SC, RW, CM are all softer areas than our LW with Jonas there.
