Ronaldo
Yeah, it was Harper's last game.
Guest
So we could have stopped this in May '13 potentially?
James
Was he not at Norwich? Nope he found out he had cancer in October. He had a testicle removed. He returned to the club and was told by Pardew to find another club. He went to Norwich on loan. Then complained to press about manager's treatment of him. Towards end of time with Norwich he found it had spread to his kidneys. Over summer club stripped him of his squad number.
GeordieT
DM have a transcript of the whole interview - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2759424/Jonas-Gutierrez-reveals-Bacary-Sagna-foul-prompted-scan-uncover-cancerous-tumour.html
James
What is worrying as that at the time it was being said that Jonas training performances had dropped hence Pardew decided to get rid. Very much a fitness thing. Cancer would have knocked a chunk out if his fitness

Ronaldo
I think I hate Charnley more than Llambias.
huss9
just such a cold functional statement.
Guest palnese
There's nowt wrong with that statement.
Darth Crooks
I'm as quick to stick the boot in to Ashley and his lackeys as much as anyone on here but we don't know enough about this situation to slate that statement too much. Probably a pack of lies like.
Crumpy Gunt
Surely he would have medical insurance? Stating he's paid for the treatment himself suggests so. Strange state of affairs. Good luck with the recovery.
Ally
Strange how the club haven't said anything today. Even just a tweet or short statement to say we are thinking of him. Read on Twitter people saying they're obviously waiting for a bigger gesture etc....that's bollocks Incredibly distasteful and crude. Have a word with yourself. Oh shut up man I wasn't making a joke, just a poor choice of word in the circumstances. I lost one of my testicles 10 years ago so believe me I don't find any of this funny
Varadi
I think I hate Charnley more than Llambias. Llambias at least gave the impression he had a brain in his head, Charnley is just a characterless drone.

Kanj
I think I hate Charnley more than Llambias. Agree. I kind of liked that cunt Dekka before he left. And by liked, I mean I just didn't hate him as much as I used to.
toontownman
just such a cold functional statement. I agree, although it should have come sooner. I am so gutted to hear it has since spread, this is truly devastating news. Thoughts going out to Jonas and his family. Whole situation is absolutely heartbreaking. Hope the chemo has cut it out, very worrying the first operation didn't stop the spread. Stay strong Jonas.
sempuki
Shocking that his cancer has spread. Poor lad.
Geordie Deb
Well they could have put a bit more emotion in to their statement FFS. This is an employee who has given 6 years to the club, who stayed around when the club was relegated and worked his bloody socks off for the team throughout his time here. From all accounts a great lad in the dressing room and always willingly took part in commitments on behalf of the club especially with the fans. This is someone we care about and are willing for him to be ok. What a shower of shte our club has become.
