West Brom sack Di Matteo; appoint Woy

I can't tell if your point about Hodgson is you giving your backing to Pardew/Hughton?

The Hughton is slightly different, as I'm not sure the results we had were worthy of him being released from contract. The Arsenal and Sunderland results were still sharp in the mind, despite a frankly embarrassing display against the aforementioned Albion. I did dislike the the anger and emotion involved in the ordeal from the players especially. Results were average with him and have continued in a similar vein since Pardew took power. It stands up alright as a business decision, imo, even if there were (unconfirmed. You never actually know anything at this club) reports of other factors influencing it.

Generally though, my point had little to do with NUFC at all. Media, supporters, and most people with knowledge of football were lambasting the West Bromwich authorities for dismissing RDM, despite the results supporting the decision. He did a good job in the CCC, and took the club forward, but his time came to a necessary end as soon as he took the club to a barrier it could not pass. West Brom made a logical and correct decision, regardless of what the general sentiments will say.

Hodgson's vast amount of experience in situations WBA found themselves in at the time has proven the directors made the right decision. I thought WBA were too gung ho at times and needed to tighten up. Hodgson seems to have achieved this and they are still entertaining to watch. After the way he was treated at Liverpool, I was delighted for him when he beat that back stabbing little scottish wanker last week.

I am also pleased they will stay up and hope that Blackpool do was well. I like the football they play even if it has been their undoing at times and the league need characters like Holloway.

As for Hughton, despite some good results, the writing was on the wall after those mediocre diisplays at Bolton and WBA plus the fact we were generally crap at home, Experience was prob ably needed at the club, much in the same way Hodgson was brought in at WBA but we missed our chance by appointing Pardew when we could possibly have got someone like Jol.

Done a great job since taking over and credit to him as they were more or less in free fall before he arrived and Mark Hughes is starting to find his level now imho ,2 managers who had the big club syndrome and couldnt hack it .

bit harsh on hughes, when he moved to man city it was a rather different club to what it was by the end of that transfer window and he was harshly treated in his sacking imho, not like city have done miles better since

Hughes' limitations in the transfer market where shown up massively while he was at Manchester City.

How much did he spend on Lescott and Santa Cruz again?

Very true but imho he is more comfortable at a club like Fulham than a pressure cooker like Man City .

I doubt Blackburn will be wanting to buy Santa Cruz off Man City as he hasn't done much on loan to them. There's another huge loss for Man City because of a Hughes purchase.

Tbh Man city couldnt give a shit with the money they have spent prior to the new rules as there wealthy owners just write it off but next season will see the difference .

Hughes is also a massive dicksplash with a huge chip on his shoulder.

That certainly counts against him.

Agreed. His handshake fetish also doesn't help.
