Wonder how he'd do today in a Salah role?

Interesting. Wonder where Solano would fit in in today's game

Jesus that left foot cutting inside would have resulted in some ridiculous thunderbastard goals.

Why did he get no France caps whilst racking up insane numbers for Newcastle in the premier league?

I seem to remember France deploying Bruno Cheyrou one time on the left side of midfield whilst he was stinking out the premier league, whilst Robert didn't get a look in.

Had a bit of a reputation as a mouthy git, plus the reasons he got stick in Newcastle: didn't track back, could go missing in games, couldn't tackle.

The world was deprived of seeing Robert, Zidane and Henry all in the same XI.

I think I've posted this before but no matter how I try, I can't remember Kieron Dyer being anything other than pretty average for us.  Always surprises me when I see his stats being respectable.

Nobby and Bobby. Wew. We had them at the same time as Shearer. Goal-printing machine.

I dare say he helped their stats. Not sure they'd have the same numbers with our current strike force.

Not sure what statistical analysis has been performed here, perhaps they used the new AI app totalbollx. It is yet another table claiming to be an “all-time” list which is obviously rubbish. Perhaps they mean Premier League but, even if that is the case, where are they getting all the info from? The most perplexing thing though is the appearance of Jock Rutherford, who was at the club from 1902-1913.

Hahaha never noticed that [emoji38]

Just seen the source at the bottom was transfermrkt which is normally pretty accurate. Not sure how they could get hold of his stats though!

I’m sure some of the more recent figures will be reasonably accurate, although I would have expected Beardsley to be higher up the list.

I'd be interested to know where these statistics came from.  Pretty sure "assists" weren't a thing in football back in the era of Lee Clark and Rob Lee.

As for #17, Jock Rutherford, he played his last game for us in 1913.  Television didn't start in the UK until 20 years later. How does anyone know that he had one more assist than Joelinton but one less than Shelvey?

Edit: Wonder how many assists Giggs had.   Apologies.

They were. I remember the 01/02 season definitely Robert had the 2nd most assists in the PL with 14, behind Giggs.
