Dave
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/6181658.stm West Ham move for Wright-Phillips West Ham have made an approach to buy Chelsea's out-of-favour winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, and are thought to be willing to pay £10m. "There has been interest from West Ham and they have officially approached us," Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon said on Friday. "We're not looking to sell our players but if we get an offer we'll have to look at it on a serious basis." Chelsea bought Wright-Phillips, 25, for £21m from Manchester City in July 2005. But the England international has made only 12 league starts for Jose Mourinho's side since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, although he has come off the bench on 23 occasions. The stepson of ex-England striker Ian Wright is yet to score a goal for the Premiership champions. West Ham will have money to spend in the January transfer window following the takeover of the club by Icelanders Eggert Magnusson and Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson. The Hammers made no official comment when contacted by BBC Sport on Friday. Wasn't he another we supposedly had our eye on, for a loan deal or something? Chelsea making some nice losses on players. midds
A £8m loss is pretty much irrelevant when your owner is worth about £4 bn. fucking rich cunts. bluesigh.gif
Leazes1986
As good a player he is, i think its time we started spending money on players for actual positions we're desperate in, rather than spending half of our budget on any big name available like we usually do. Totally agree, but a loan deal would have been good for all parties IMO. We get a good right winger, SWP gets games and Chelsea/other teams get a look at him with a view to the future. Obviously it's not clear whether this was ever a genuine option.
Tooj
Sell Milner and buy up SWP, no problem. If only life were so simple. bluesigh.gif
Ikon
i would rather keep milner and put the money where it's needed.. Time to build a TEAM....
Yorkie
I'd like to see us go for him when Nobby goes... Just depends how far into the future that is. But as has been said - we've got more out-standing priorities at the moment.
mrmojorisin75
maybe we should forget about blowing our 10m wad on a player we don't need, as has been mentioned milner needs more games & faith and he'll come good, he's got the ability if we need a solano replacement at the end of the season maybe we should go out and find one from another team for a good price instead of limiting our scouting range to chel$ki and man utd reserve teams...it this kind of thinking that's got us in the shit we're in anyone think of that? Zero
i would rather keep milner and put the money where it's needed.. Time to build a TEAM.... Seconded. Milner worths the time investment and, we deadly need a RB, not a RW.
