Guest ObiChrisKenobi
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/9453736.stm American businessman Stan Kroenke has increased his shareholding in Arsenal to 62.89% and agreed to make an offer for the rest of the club. Not sure what the rest of you think, but I'd be worried if I was an Arsenal fan. Things are fine as they are, raking in money every year, good youth policy, etc.
AyeDubbleYoo
I think all the noises he's making suggest his plan is to stick with the same business model. Hasn't he even got the same chairman to stay on?
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Aye, seems like he's not changing too much at the moment. Be interesting to see what happens in the long run - still be worried if I was an Arsenal fan.

Gash
This is good news, brilliant news in fact! The other shareholder wanting to make moves for the club is Usmanov who would be a Man City type owner which I wouldn't and Arsene Wenger certainly wouldn't want and if he got the club I think it would be bye bye Mr Wenger. Kroenke has a brilliant ability to build and grow clubs from what I've read and this is what he'll do here whilst sticking to "the Arsenal way" the same set-up from Manager up will stay and it would be interesting to know if this has been in the pipe-line for some years since they let him on the board where they didn't Usmanov. It's about time he came out and did an interview now though, Silent Stan needs to go.

Just thought the change might upset the steady rhythm the club has.

jdckelly
is it a buyout like the glazers or does he have enough cash to buy it himself
mrmojorisin75
can't see the people selling him these shares agreeing to it unless there's guarantees about the future - just not the arsenal way man, no way they'd sell the club out like liverpool were mugged into
Gash
is it a buyout like the glazers or does he have enough cash to buy it himself "KSE has also stated that the offer will not be funded by debt finance secured against the Club."

Gash
The Guardian are reporting that silent Stan's first move as new owner would be to buy the club out of the sponsorship deal with Fly Emirates, this would be great for the club since we could be getting almost double and as we needed a sponsorship at the time our hands were tied. Gash
what about the remainder of the stadium debt? will he leave that as is or pay it off do you think It's 'only' at £140m at the moment and this is getting paid off really quickly. Depends on his view of the interest, personally I think he'll not pay it off and address the gross underpayment we are receiving from shirt sponsorship. Then again if he's THAT loaded why not come to an agreement and pay the debt off? I think we'll have a very eventful year regardless!
