I'm going to quote everyone who laughed at me in the carroll thread for suggesting that we'll be as close to the CL as Liverpool are. If we actually get the players we seem to be wanting, we'll be closer than them. I will cherish the day we finish above Liverpool again and it seemingly will come a hell of a lot quicker than I ever expected. I suppose the only downside to all this is whether pardew can mould these exciting players into a good team. At least carver has the pedigree in that he must have learnt from SBR the way you organise an attack. It's ironic that Ashley didn't spend when KK was here because he would be salivating at the thought of coaching the players who are rumoured to be signing for us. It's becoming clear that we're going to play a 4-3-3/4-5-1 next season - which is the formation he and Cabaye are most suited to. Ben Arfa/Jonas wide left, Gervinho wide right.
