I assume (hope) we have back up plans but I doubt we will be going too far down the negotations route with other players until we know what is happening with this. There's too many positive noises coming out from our side IMO. Wouldn't read to much into all that. Pardew is in a constant state of "waiting hopefully". And why he has 44 goals in 173 league games for Reading But to be fair 25 of those goals were last season from only 50 games, so obviously the lads improved. As there's no way Reading created enough clear cut chances for him to waste loads and still score 1 in 2. I actually really like the look of him, but I've only been taking the slightest bit notice since we've been linked with him so I've only seen compilations and highlights from a few games. I don't think its all about one being a much better goal score than the other. Rather that Long is more the kind of player we need to compliment Ba.
