Modibo Maiga, author of a good second period yesterday, would still have to pack before the end of the summer transfer window. According to our information, Newcastle is now more than ever on the spot. It is known that the two presidents were called in last weekend, and perhaps Alexandre Lacombe he asked his English counterpart to let the Greens face Maiga, before negotiating the final transfer. It seems at least a significant advance can be recorded from this Monday. This also means, in turn, the FCSM has found a rare bird to replace Maiga.

not as good as the "Newcastle is now more than ever on the spot", which shows the unreliability of this article...

As far as I can tell (from a quick wiki and people's thoughts on here, so please correct me) Maiga was a winger converted to striker who has a decent scoring record, whereas Roux is a talented and promising youngster who doesn't have a good scoring record in the top flight in France so is more of a "development" player.

I'm hoping to see Santon in as the full back and Maiga as the striker.

If we also bought Pieters so we're not relying too much on young players as our only left backs (and Santon is right footed, so could cover and challenge for both fb positions), Roux as a "development" striker, and Benayoun as Barton's replacement in midfield then WAHAY! We've started well and built a strong squad.

(Not going to happen with this lot though, is it? Let's just hope we don't get a lot of injuries and / or the kids are up to the season run-in and not thrust into a relegation battle).

According to Neil Farrington their president has agreed to sell, after speaking to Dekka, if they can get a replacement...Max Gradel being one of their targets.

Only way this Macheda business would not drive me suicidal is if we get this guy as well.
