Realistic Transfer Targets

Gylfi Sigurdsson £40m realistic?

Nope. Wouldn't pay £40m for him and he'd have much bigger clubs after him too.

Cracking player though, exactly the type we need to play behind Gayle/new striker.

I can't see us spending more than £20 million on one player

We'll have a tough time of it this summer then. That's the asking price for Cairney. Seeing what Everton paid for Pickford, was surprising, but it's the new reality. (Funny/sad thing for sunderland is that money won't go very far.)

£40m for Sigurdsson is probably about right.  He was involved in 20-odd goals for a poor team last season.  Swansea would've almost certainly gone down without him so they'll value him very highly.  They would probably be within their rights to ask for more than that when you consider what we got for that cunt Sissoko.

Conte will allow Zouma to go out on loan if they/when they land Bonucci.

Would love us to go in for him.

Behind Cahill, Azpilicueta and David Luiz they've got Zouma, Ake and Christensen so you'd think one of those will be loaned out, certainly if they buy another.

Ake would be a great signing. Liked the look of him at Bournemouth.

Chelsea really do make a mockery of the squad registration ruling. I can understand they want to develop their own players etc, but just seems to go against what football clubs should be doing when they just stockpile players like that.

 None of them ever make it there either so ultimately they're bought to be sold on.

Really like to see UEFA and the PL take the squad registration one step further and limit clubs to a certain number of professionals, whether they be out on loan or not. Say for example you can only own 30 players over the age of 21. Chelsea must have around double that number.

They had 40 odd on loan, so assuming they have a 25 man squad plus a few still around, they're probably knocking on about 80 players.

EDIT: According to Eurosport, "Manchester City have 82 players on their books with Chelsea overseeing 75 and Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur on 74."

Might be wrong but the original stockpiling of promising players started in Italy in the 90s. Several years ago Juventus, Milan and Inter had around 100 over-17 players under contract each.

Yeah before Parma went bankrupt they had an insane amount of players. Starting with them on Football Manager was an absolute head fuck.
