The College Dropout
We seem to do it a lot. I reckon we've conceded more of these than any other team, or atleast a higher percentage of goals conceded the most. Why is it? Team too short? Or something more deep lying? Discuss lads. oldtype
Replacing our centerback who's good at defending set pieces with a fullback who's bad at everything.
Pilko
I was so pissed off at the one we conceded today. It's one of the most basic ever set piece routines possible, and we fell for it hook, line and sinker. Absolutely shite defending and positioning. Jayson
A few weeks ago i read a stat saying exactly that. We concede more from set pieces than any other side, many of those pens though. Williamson coming back in will hopefully help us both sides. Corners is a joke.
Sifu
Taylor is replaced by Perch. end thread. Pretty much this. The sooner Williamson is back in the starting line up, the better.
Guest VaVaVoom
Taylor is replaced by Perch. end thread. This has a big impact but i think generally our marking/concentration has been shit. Actually...set pieces in general have been wank...offensively we offer nowt also.
Wullie
We were conceding too many set piece goals even before Taylor got injured tbf, though it's hardly helped.
The College Dropout
Yep it's not just down to Tayls injury. Saylor himself is likely to concede a penalty or a dangerous freekick at any time tbf. It's gotten that litle bit worse since he's been out but the problem is more deep rooted than that. Nordstrom
Replacing Taylor with Perch also puts a lot of pressure on Coloccini to pick up some of the extra threat which can cause mental blocks.
Yorkie
What made today's more infuriating was that the second goal was conceded from two set pieces. The shit goal-kick initially and the resulting free-kick.
SteveMc
Think Villa concede the most. Our second conceded yesterday was a shocker mind. Earlier in the season I was confident when we were defending from set plays, it has always been the case that Colo needs to line up alongside a strong header of the ball. Sifu
Ever since we lost Saylor this season, our ability to defend from set pieces has certainly declined a bit. Sure we were conceding from set plays even with Saylor (a lot less though) but without him, it's now been highlighted as quite a major problem. Guest je85
Williamson's pretty decent in the air, will be a welcome return.
