Pick the following:

The best:

4 goalies

4 right backs

6 centre backs

4 left backs

6 centre midfielders

4 right wingers

4 left wingers

6 attackers

in no particular order

Stolen from another forum, thought it might be interesting.

Mine is:

Keepers: Hart, Reina, Krul, Szczesny

Right backs: Sagna, Richards, Ivanovic, Jones

Centre backs: Vidic, Kompany, Agger, Coloccini, Vermaelen, King

Left backs: Evra, Enrique, Cole, Baines

Centre mids: Toure, Modric, Wilshere, Lucas, VdV, Carrick

Right wing: Nani, Valencia, Johnson, Sturridge

Left wing: Bale, Silva, Mata, Young,

Attackers: Rooney, RvP, Aguero, Hernandez, Suarez, Ba

Makes it difficult with the defined positions as I certainly don't think of people like Silva, Mata, Sturridge as wingers or VdV as a central midfielder. Selection is based on both form this season and class in general, if we're talking quality over a career for example I'd personally have Berbatov over Hernandez, Ba etc but he simply hasn't played enough this season for me to consider him. Same reason I left out Rio and Terry as I think both are on the downward spiral.

What really struck me is just how few players in the bottom half I even came close to considering, there really is a case of top clubs hoarding the best players and everybody else feeding on scraps. The only players I picked outside of the top 6 were Baines (who doesn't have much competition at LB) and 3 NUFCplayers which is largely down to bias.

Actually, I'd probably have Tioté ahead of Carrick but 4 NUFC players was probably too much bias on another forum.

yes you've already chosen 3 Newcastle players which is entirely down to unadulterated bias.  :hmm:

Tbf, I really don't think it's that biased is it? Our squad is a lot of average to poor players being pulled up above their level by 3 or 4 very, very good players.

In no realm does Gerrard deserve to be ahead of Lampard. Gerrard has been on the slide down for a good couple of years and while Lampard isn't at the heights he once was, he still does the business on a regular basis. I actually think he's been underrated over the years; it's become fashionable to slag him off for some reason. An outstanding player season after season after season.
