NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Pardew added: "The reality is it (the transfer window) shuts on Friday night and we have to sweat right up to 12 o'clock. That's the type of club we are now.

JUST FUCKING TURN THE BIDS DOWN MAN

It's not really up to him though.

Pards sounds like he is inviting bids for our big players.

He's always dedicated most of his time to talking about potential suitors for our players so why change now?

Or he is just being honest given he was a couple of months into the job when the local hero was sold to the fans disgust?

Aye but he already said it months ago, he doesn't have to constantly mention it. Just sounds like he is trying to prepare us for one of them going.

To be honest, if Tiote is sold then it just exposes the lunacy of the club allowing Alan Smith to leave on a Bosman.

He might be because he knows we will sell if silly offers come in, doesn't mean he is actively touting our players around. Does him no good having a poorer squad does it?

It's basically the equivalent of a hooker in a window flashing a bit of leg.

Baffles me why time after time it gets trotted out, "we fear a bid, someone might come in for one of our excellent players. We just have to hope no such bids come in. Teams can bid right up to the last minute and there's nothing we can do."

Shut your face, man.

I know mate, but he's talking about the sort of club we are. We should be the sort of club that turns down bids if they're too late to get a replacement in.

This late in the window I do not care how much is offered for our top players non of them should be sold now, surely the Carroll fiasco taught us that.

His reserve scoring 6-7 goals, us getting about 3 times his value, then replacing him with two better players for £9m combined within the next year?

You're right but Carroll is an awful example of why we shouldn't sell so late.

He didn't say our reserve team isn't significantly worse then our first 11 though. He said it's a luxury to have a reserve team that isn't significantly worse and that like many other teams we don't have that luxury.

"A reserve team that's not significantly worse than the first 11"

Yes that's what he described as the luxury we didn't have.  Might want to take the time to read properly before trying to take the mickey.  Because you're only making a fool of yourself.

Getting bid's for players is surely a sign of the good players we have at the club.  Can't stop clubs looking at our players if they think they are good.

I half suspect that we've been touting Tiote around all summer, and our failure to offload him for big money may have held up everything else.

Agree with this. Tiote is not a £20m player, good that he is.

I don't hear Everton, Liverpool, Spurs or infact any other club constantly go on about how much they are worried about a bid coming in for one of their better players.  If it happens, it happens - just don't keep reminding everyone about it.  It just sounds like we are trying to encourage bids rather than deter them.

It is the same for every club and if the player wants to leave, they will normally get their way.  If you want to keep the player and they are not that bothered about moving, then you turn the offer down.  Other clubs seem to manage this but they make it always sound as if we have no choice but to sell once we receive an offer.

If the club are touting bids for him, maybe it's down to the constant injuries he's been getting for a year now perhaps?
