aussiemag
Thats the thing, whats the point of spunking so much money on these two if its only going to improve them by two or three places in the league. Its a recipe for disaster imo.
matta
Gonna be totally honest here. Fletcher is a good buy i think, albeit an expensive one. Johnson has been quality all times i've seen him, looking a real threat every time. Hopefully he has stagnated while not playing for city..
Jayson
Johnsons the first one i imagine could help them step it up a bit attacking wise, Fletchers a good player but not one you'd expect to take them up a level. He's a decent striker, 6-7m decent though nowhere near 15m or whatever nonsense theyve paid.
Godot
Jack Colback is a rank average footballer. As long as they never improve on him and Catts for me like they will always be a limited team.

Vinny Green Balls
Frankly, their team still looks underwhelming as whole. Certainly doesn't look like one that will tear up trees. Upper Midtable is their ceiling.

taxfree
Sunderland won't come anywhere near our achievement last year.
Vinny Green Balls
possibly. but seriously, Cattermole and Colbeck? Spunking that much on one decent player and one good player when they have a lot of dross in the team seems madness, but completely in line with MON's dealings, as has been highlighted ad nauseum. Dave
Just seen O'Neill saying about Fletcher "He's underrated, but not by me!' No shit. £14,000,000.

Aye heard that on Total Sport on the way home. Best thing about it is the thick Mackems lap it up.

Upper Midtable is their ceiling. Im sure people were saying that about us last season......................... Not saying they will emulate us btw. people were saying that about us last season but they were people who didn't really have a clue about cabaye, who didn't really have a clue about Ba, people who still had colo down as the mug from the relegation season. the same people that had barton and nolan down as our most important players when the vast majority on here didn't even have nolan in the starting XI as soon as we'd signed cabaye. Vinny Green Balls
If they get rid of Sessegnon, they will be virtually no different from last season. In fact, I'd much rather have him than Johnson.
Guest bimpy474
Their problem is they have zero creatitivty in the middle of the park. Well if you discount Catts who is like Zico.

Unbelievable
Their problem is they have zero creatitivty in the middle of the park. Well if you discount Catts who is like Zico. Jack Colback is actually a decent Premiership midfield player, which is as good as it gets for them (in the centre of midfield).

Which is exactly why Artie plays him LB, the genius of that man is astounding.
Vinny Green Balls
well, Messi has to score 73 goals for positive affirmation, because he is an unconfident, vain little chud. Catts knows he's a legend, so he doesn't have to prove it to anyone. His modesty in performances given his talent gets me the most.

Yup, an excellent signing for them. Also exactly the right step for his career, time for him to show the quality he seemingly has deliver constantly as a 'main man'.
