I'm still hoping we'll improve when we get a better right back btw, so much of Pardew's mentality seems to be about covering for our deficiencies and I think that's the reason we don't get midfielders beyond the ball very much, if at all.

Work on passing and moving in training please. Our slow build ups and then rely on HBA to something are painful to watch.

This has been my biggest gripe for quite a while now.  We pass then ball watch, like you said it's painful to watch, especially when the attacks just stop there because no one is making the move.

Yup, and to be it's highlighted more than it would be for us than other teams because we're utterly inept at set-pieces.

Pardew should have been more honest about the second half performance. He was ok about the first, we did just edge it, but second half we was utter wank. He started alluding to "losing our way" and being "upset at some of our play" but none of it sounded like it was down to his shit tactics or choices for putting people on wrong flank or out of position. The tiredness factor is just utter bollocks.

Ofcourse the players are tired, they have to play week in and week out with our midfield of 4 against the oppositions 5. Its easy, change to 4-5-1/4-3-3 keep the ball at the ground for most of the game, and our players doesn't have to run like crazy chasing the ball for 90 mins. Cabaye and Ben Arfa will get more time on the ball to make things happened, hopefully our midfield will score more goals...

if you think solely getting a better right back will change the entire team, you in for a rude awakening.

Sammy Lee? seriously ?

Anyway i have thought for a while we should hire coach who specialises in passing and movement to work under Pardew.

Pardew's supposed to work on the defensive side of our game iirc, and tbf he's doing a decent job of turning something s*** on paper into order and organization. With better defenders we'll obviously concede less of the goals of the Lukaku type today.

Carver's our true attacking coach really, but he seems to be a better motivator than a source of fresh, new ideas. Pretty much rubbed on from Sir Bobby imo. He's doing good at trying to motivate our confidence-run attacking players, but I think a lot of the attacking we see just come out of the players themselves tbh. Hardly see any ingenious additions in the tactical department.

We could sure use a new attacking coach that has a tactical nous, as well as set-play knowhow. Someone who can fix our passing, movement and set plays. Not to mention one who could finally figure out how to get the Dembas to gel. The latter's not a motivational issue imo, but a tactical dilemma to ensure that they don't hinder each other in games.

I'm pretty sure Beardsley is perfectly capable of coaching players to pass and move like. As if they'd need coaching something as daft as that this age though, you learn it when you're 7.

Let's get started then.

Too often today we were attacking with 9 outfield players behind the ball, it's shit watching insipid shit like we're dishing up.  Christ, thinking that we've got this bloke at the club for the next years doesn't really fill me with much hope for the future.

Beardsley is only good for handing out bibs and picking up the cones off the pitch.  Although he did add a new string to his bow in the reserve game last week....stretcher bearer.

Pardew was let down by his attacking players today who were to a man disgraceful.

We deserved to win last weekend and deserved to draw today. It's evened itself out.
