The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Vitor Pereira to Wolves

Recommended Posts

There's no excuse for 1 win in 24 home games like. Opened my eyes when Huddersfield gave him the bullet, most people were shocked apart from their fans who were jumping through hoops, and they subsequently got promoted. Fans know.

It's a valid excuse. They're running on fumes and would need a far better manager than they can attract to do anything other than avoid relegation every year now.

Jordan Mutch £1,000,000

Ben Foster £3,500,000

Jake Jervis £50,000

Jack Butland £3,500,000

Total                £20,950,000

You're just doing what people do with us, when we slag off pardew. He had loads of money at Huddersfield and couldn't get them up.  1 win in 24 at home, regular negative tactics and awful football. Like I said my best mate supports them so I've seen it.

If you think he's good enough for us, then you're in for a shock if he gets the job

I haven't said anything even close to that last bit. You simply cannot manage a club well if you don't get any money to spend for years, it's completely different to Pardew getting Internationals handed to him all the time.

The problem is too many people want to rate Clark because he is a local lad rather than any solid reasoning that he's a talented manager.

You can attempt to play even remotely good football. Don't know why you are linking Huddersfield, their budget was bigger than most of the teams in the league. http://sabotagetimes.com/reportage/birmingham-city-a-huddersfield-fan-on-what-to-expect-from-lee-clark/

Regardless of the money he gets at blues. They've been woeful to watch, and his football is dreadful. He's a poor manager and thats basically pretty much all their is to it.

We'll just have to wait and see how well the next manager does.

On the other hand, loads of our fans still give Pardew time and we still get 50k every game. Most outsiders don't even realize there's a problem here.

I've never actually said anything about how good he is because I haven't watched anything from his teams and don't tent to trust other peoples opinions for the reason stated above. All I'm saying is the Birmingham job is a massive pain in the arse and will continue to be.

That's true. But I mean I've watched them, and I've got blues supporting mates so I get a good amount of insight.

It is, and I wouldn't argue against it but the likes of wolves/Bournemouth/ Ipswich/Rotherham/Brentford are all performing way better on similar budgets

Wolves and Bournemouth will have much bigger budgets.

Right on time:

@lee_ryder: I know plenty of #nufc fans who would have Lee Clark back at SJP. You can't put a price on his passion. http://t.co/LBXpsZEedF

Sadly he's right. There are plenty of thick fans who think being a geordie is the foremost qualification for being a Newcastle manager.

No there isn't, but there are fans who want a manager they can believe in, who can at least try and understand the club, Keegan was from Yorkshire but the fans responded to his style of play.Even Bobby Robson was a Durham lad but having a North East background and being a United fan from a young age helped.

How does understanding the club help you tactically against Arsenal, or help you develop a young player into a top class one? Completely beyond me that, I'm afraid.

So it doesn't matter if a manager doesn't have the understanding of the soul of a club ?

The type of player a club who fits in with a certain philosophy of what football should be ? If Keegan understood and Robson understood and even before that Harvey understood then I don't see why there isn't a manager out there who could do the same for us.

If thats beyond you, you should be afraid.

What's the soul of the club then?

You know it when you see it out there on the pitch.

It's belief, excitement, faith and a sense of optimism, we've had it in the past, perhaps one day we will have it again.Perhaps.

Pretty sure Southampton have got that with a Dutchman who's been there five minutes.

So the same as every other club? Do they not all want those things?

Of course not, Next daft question,

 this attitude doesn't do us any favours at all. Every single set of fans wants their club to be something great. It's not unique to us, its nothing to do with the area.

So belief in, and support for Newcastle United has nothing to do with the region ?

Is that what you are saying ?
