I live in Manchester, so not their biggest fan but of the many sticks to beat their fanbase with, manager impatience definitely isn't one. Again, it’s the smaller loud section of their fanbase whose OTT opinions are amplified by the media and the cabal of ex players they’ve got doing the circuit on tv/radio. After every Man U defeat it’s “who’s to blame” on Super Sunday or whatever the show is. No one ever has any answers. The club is in total disarray. This next guy will get some wins, take some defeats but imo won’t be much of an improvement. They’ll still be a streaky little team who because of their finger pointing and going round the houses, amateur ownership, directionless playing staff and a management not able to meet the impossible demands just being “Manchester United”, they’ll fall someway short of challenging for too honours on the regular and being seen as modern equals of City and Liverpool. PopeandGlory Posted Friday at 12:02 Share Posted Friday at 12:02 Shame. Quite liked him and now I’ll want his career to totally crash and burn.
El Prontonise Posted Friday at 12:06 Share Posted Friday at 12:06 Good appointment, but could easily still fail due Brexit Jim, Glazers etc being clueless at running a football club.
Turnbull2000 Posted Friday at 12:06 Share Posted Friday at 12:06 Gonna get very tight at the top when Man U get their act together. No doubt the breakaway clubs will eventually lobby for 6 champions league places.

midds Posted Friday at 12:11 Share Posted Friday at 12:11 Not going to pretend that I know an awful lot about Amorim but it appears as if this is pretty much as good as they could have done tbh. He seems very highly rated, already successful and has many many good years ahead of him. Hope he/they crash and burn obviously but the law of averages say they'll get it right eventually, this bloke could be the one

And they haven’t got a great track record of foreign managers themselves so for them to back away does show a slight red flag

We'll soon see how he copes but there's plenty of talent in the squad and if he's bringing something different it might just click fairly quickly. It could also unravel even more obviously but if I was a betting man I think he's more likely to get it right than sink without a trace

Armchair Pundit Posted Friday at 12:27 Share Posted Friday at 12:27 I don't really know anything about this guy, other than a brief look at his wiki page. I'm probably missing something, but he doesn't strike me as being skilled or experienced enough for a Prem club the size of Man Utd... still, if it all goes further to shit for them, who am I to argue

Ten Hag is "completely devastated" and "completely ruined". No, no, not just sad, you've read it right: he is utterly and completely RUINED. Guys please join me in one minute of silence tonight at 20:00 CET sharp for this football manager to make it through this unbelievably hard time. All he's got left is is health, family, giant mansions, luxury cars, and now 15 million pounds. Let's not be selfish and only think about ourselves, please. JEToon Posted Friday at 12:30 Share Posted Friday at 12:30 Still in a rut Still don't have one of the best managers in the league and still have issues with their squad, he will be chasing his tail for a while and likely fall shot of expectations for a while. Seems to me that he was the next best thing this summer when he was linked to Liverpool. Then when they went for the baldy guy this Sporting lad wasn’t good enough for West Ham. Ikon Posted Friday at 12:36 Share Posted Friday at 12:36 Stupid to write him off! Equally stupid to expect him to make them one of the best teams in the league as well. It will be a tough job but it could go any way really. Since when does it work to judge managers “on paper” ? It’s so much about fit/timing. He’s a talented manager. TenkoDaLuz Posted Friday at 12:38 Share Posted Friday at 12:38 Rúben is a good manager and he's a fanboy of Gasperini, so expect Man Utd to adopt his 3-4-3.

I'll be perfectly honest and say I don't watch the Portuguese League at all so all I can do is form my opinion from those who do, he seems very highly rated but nothing is ever set in stone, we'll just have to wait and see how he does and what brings
