I think it was actually a rule that they had to keep them for 2 years - wasn’t it?

Aye, then money won.

I wonder who was the first one to start the ripping off process?

Would like both home and away to be on alternating two year cycles. One new shirt per year, plus an extra third one if we get into Europe

Spot on. Id even pay 100 quid if you got 2 seasons out of it

In addition to financial/enviromental reasons etc, when you have a kit for a couple of years it can really define a period a lot more as well I feel.

Definitely a fake, look at that tiny adidas logo

Aye, the sponsor logo doesn’t align with the typewriting either.

What about reversible kits, maybe say at £120? Home and third kit? Away sells as a single? Arsenal's is going at £80 right?

They’ll outsell the actual kit.

And it won’t be announced or released until all the other kits for this season have been released, just so you absolutely have to pay again.

Haven't bought a shirt since the black NTL away in 2000\2001 but I'd buy it like.

09/10 was the first year teams went to a once a year cycle, think they all did it the same time.

I had a little search after posting, I think some “European” shirts were launched then maybe Liverpool broke the trend from reading a few archived posts on Reddit.

Man Utd and others went to yearly a little while before we did, talking mid 2000’s. We did it once we moved to Puma, but our Adidas deal ended after only 1 year of a home shirt.
