Tbf I'd be very surprised if the final outcome wasn't a full refund or replacement.

My money's on the club merch people being absolutely swamped with sales. Huge sales brings a percentage of fuck ups that need sorting.

I'd be interested to know how many shirts they've sold these last few weeks. Must be loads.

Yes, apparently the last few weeks have been bedlam in the club shop.

That said, that response to the faulty shirt is very poor. There’s no guarantee the Carabao patch will come off without causing damage to the shirt or the patch itself, or that it can be put back on. If they can’t replace it, they should have fully funded the order.

Ramirez is being a pedant. Just get the shirt on and walk about with that arm in the air. Badge will be the right way up AND, as an added bonus, you'll get on Look North for breaking the World Record for Shearer impersonation

Overall first year with adidas has been okay but not great.

1) playing/training kit was all good

2) adidas Originals and ZDN was good

3) supply for the Originals and ZDN was absolutely terrible

4) very poor selection of lifestyle stuff, especially in comparison to Leeds and the other adidas elite clubs

5) a shocker that there was nothing released for Christmas - 96 shirt should have launched in November not January. And they should have had the Originals in stock then as well.

Hopefully better to follow.

Highlight for me was the 80s style retro shirt.

in my opinion

1. Kits were average. Home will go down in history after cup win but the reimagining of the aways were poorly done and the training kits were as boring as could possibly get.

2. Adidas originals were good but just the same stuff as the other clubs. Man Utd & I think Bayern for example looked so much better. Personally I think using one of colours from the away kit would have looked so much better than that teal colour

3. agree but they can charge more if it’s limited edition

4 & 5 agree

all in all quite disappointed with adidas so far. They best thing they did were their adverts

Agree with much of this

Adidas Originals gear the real attraction for me but it does suck that it's the very same core designs across a number of other clubs. The lack of restocking was also a farce.

Also , no doubt covered before but really weak gk kit designs in my opinion.  And again, the same across other adidas pl teams.

adidas originals works better with older badges, they didn't have to try much this year as people would have bought almost anything nufc adidas related, particularly with the cup win.  I've just sold a 95-96 jumper for almost £400, the club would be mad not to consider brining out some of that gear.

See what I get in the patch lottery.

Right way up.  Now to get it framed with the rest of the stuff I have.

Honestly the whole ‘We’ll drop this is a few days/weeks time, and once it sells it’s gone’ was a pisstake. The Gazelles, and the originals products were a big example of this. The 95-97 shirt has had poor availability since its launch.

I understand that we need to release stuff across the season to keep merchandise income spread out, rather than just front loaded at May/August time, with a little increase towards Christmas time. I just feel a bit more forewarning of those products would have been helpful.

I do think that overall though we are still lacking on merchandise, but I guess it’s going to take years to start selling rights to different suppliers for different items, and for those companies to start recognising us as a viable brand to work with. It was nice to see us team up with Oddballs for instance, which is a company who have teamed up with most football clubs, and considering Steve Harper is one of the co-owners of them, it’s surprising that we already didn’t team up with them.

As for our shirts. I don’t think the home shirt was inspired by the right one, however I guess it was the only historic shirt that we could draw inspiration from that would fit to Adidas’ template for this season. Next seasons template doesn’t seem to have changed much, so we’ll likely see similar, even if we do get the Northumbrian Tartan look on it.

In saying this, our cup win will make it instantly iconic. Selling the final edition, and the Champions edition will mean that some people will have 2/3 editions of the same shirt, and with it just simply being tournament badges, numbering, and lettering, it means the club will have been able to shift quite a bit of excess stock at full price.

The away shirt was always going to be an easy win. I don’t think it will be particularly remembered as it’s not really featured in an iconic moment/match, but an easy win. I think next season we’ll have an re-issue of our original shirt of that colour scheme, much like the 95-97 home shirt this season.

The 3rd shirt I think became surprisingly more popular than it was intended. Maybe it was old school club badge, I don’t know. Initially I thought it wasn’t all that, but ended up liking it more in person and getting myself.

As a comparison, I ordered my daughter a Norwich shirt on Friday, with name and number on. It arrived at 10am today.

Granted they probably don’t have the demand we do, but that’s pretty good going.

I agree with most of that, the inspiration for our current shirt was okay I thought - there's only been three happy periods in my lifetime (pre PIF), Keegan promotion as player, Entertainers and Robson Champions League so there's not a great well of happy memories to draw from. I only think they should draw inspiration from good times so there's no way I'm getting that awful remake of the 97-98 away. So the only other option for inspiration for the home is asics 93-95.

I think supply of the 96 shirt was okay - I only seen it out of stock a couple of tines and it's always in JD.

Lifestyle items is where more work is needed - a plain t shirt or hoddie with a big trefoil in the middle with 'magpies' in the adidas font would be a good start.

In fact anything with a trefoil would be a good start.
