NUFC kits & merchandise

I think the Howay The Lads has its place. The problem is they're putting it on more expensive, classier looking pieces that people may want to wear out and i think that makes it a bit more like game day wear. You could envisage wearing that jacket from the front down to a night somewhere with mates or after work. When you see the back i just dont think you can, dunno why

Howay The Lads is steeped in local and club culture. Absolutely love that it’s on the back of the shirt and it’s a chant that sadly doesn’t get aired enough anymore.

Any tip to local tradition and fan culture should be applauded in this day and age of generic shite.

It made zero sense to wear the Green kit yesterday when the black and white (predominately white) shirt would have contrasted fine against the maroon of villa. Then the black shorts against their white shorts instead of both wearing white like we did. Finally black socks against their light blue.

If this is a sign of being forced to wear the green every away game even when it makes zero sense too then that's even more annoying than having to put up with a green and white kit every season in the first place.

Anyone know if it means the run of the home kit is over? Wanted to get it at some point but can only see S, M, L online.

They have been selling off the remaining stock for a while, there doesn’t seem to be any replenishment of certain sizes, and it’s no longer on the shelf in the club stores.

No idea why people are complaining about this season’s green kit. I thought it looked great yesterday and is easily the best of the Saudi-inspired ones so far.

I don't think it's that bad a kit but once you've had one Saudi kit you've had them all tbh.

Don't know if it's cos I had many beers but when your in a pub watching the TV from afar the shirts blur into the pitch 🤣

Weird that they both had white shorts when there were so many other options. I thought you weren't allowed to have the same coloured shorts?

The fact it's Saudi inspired is one reason.

Also for me I want to see Newcastle in black and white stripes as often as possible, ideally even just changing the socks or shorts occasionally to white if needed.

But swapping to the Saudi kit, even when it makes no logical sense to do so and actually makes it harder to differentiate players, like both having white shorts yesterday for example.

Doesn't help that I'm the opposite to you in that this is my least favourite of the ever growing repertoire of Saudi green/white kits so far. [emoji38]

I think that’s a UEFA ruling now, and maybe the championship. We wore white shorts home to psg  for example, and always used to away at wolves, Oxford, Wimbledon etc with the home top.

Our away kit is easily one of the worst of all the adidas elite team away kits imho.

Yeah. I think our 3rd shirt is one of the best though, and it would have been complete if it had the NUFC badge over the current one, much like the anthem jacket does.

The green one is like a template they have for keeper kits, or team wear stuff you can buy for your 5 a-side or Sunday team.

I have seen more people wearing it than I thought I would. I guess a lot of people will be wearing it to get back at people who mock us for the Saudi connections though.

Although it looks like it’s selling better than I thought it would, it’s not going to sell in the same numbers as last years away shirt, or even the white and green shirt from last year.
