Wilson
Sounds like we've made the second Brighton bid up to inflate the market. As if our hierarchy would tell porkies! How very dare you.
Figures 1-0 Football
Just hoping some common sense will prevail. Mitro's career is dead here, he failed to be effective in the Championship and he's barely kicked a ball this season. Rafa doesn't rate him. £15m is perfect, let's take that, up our bid on Jorgensen and then use the rest of the money to add to whatever kitty and get some more players in. Hmmmm I'd say he was pretty effective when he played but rarely played due to the insistence on playing one up front. He scored 1 goal in 6 months and got dropped for Daryl Murphy. Awaiting Optimistic Nut's reply..... How many games did he even start in those 6 months? He has the best scoring record in the PL out of all of our current strikers, he scores plenty for his national team whilst the other two wouldnt know what international football is, he started pre-season very well and has scored in his very few appearances this season. When he had a run in the side, he was very effective last season.
hoppaz
Its a bit unfair to say since Mitro arrived he has 10 goals but then not say since Gayle arrived in the same competition he has less when he actually has more. Sigh, ok, in the premiership then: Mitrovic = 1 goal every 4 games Gayle = 1 goal every 4.7 games Joselu = 1 goal every 5.3 games So yeah, Gayle has more goals, but he's played more games, so your point is moot. Actually if you factor in that Gayle scored a lot of goals as a sub he scores a goal every 206 mins whereas Mitro scores one every 226 mins.
TRon
Sounds like we've made the second Brighton bid up to inflate the market. How would that work? If anything it would inflate the price of any striker we tried to buy like Jorgensen.

If he was effective why did he get dropped for Murphy after filling in for Gayle (when he got injured and made a stupid comeback) after 3-4 games? Started 8 games FYI which is not enough, but I remember many on here saying Mitrovic was going to rip up the championship it was anything but. All of our strikers are shit tbh. Guest
Some players just aren't fancied. He scored 4 in 4 days against Preston and was dropped. All fair game because Gayle was on fire but it didn't matter what he did on the pitch, he wasn't fancied.
Shays Given Tim Flowers
His finishing has been suspect here and we need a good finisher in our current situation. He could have been used more from the bench but he really isn't the answer to our striking problems.
Kasper
If you want to make that "goals per 90 minutes" comparison accurate you should add in all the games he's missed through a suspension. 10 games I think.

I don’t understand Gayle at this level. Some of the chances he has been missing, he would have buried last season. It’s the same size ball, same goal etc It’s not like he isn’t getting into the right areas.

The problem is, he's all about goals, if he doesn't score he's going to be considered a liability because his all round game isn't good enough to be a lone striker. Kasper
On average he's also banned 20% of the time. 6.8% actually. He has played 3 836 minutes for us and has been banned for 10 matches (900 minutes) I think. So out of a possible total of 4 736 minutes he's been banned for 19%. So 5m goes towards Rafa's soopa doopa transfer kitty Edit: no idea why I quoted those two comments lol
