:'( Mythical. Missed his playing life but grew up being told he was the essence of a captain, the best of Brazilian football. Always came across as a humble and very knowledgeable man as a comentator on Brazilian TV.

Unpopular opinion - never really got the hype over that goal

RIP though.

I'm the opposite, maybe I'm just biased (the brazilian blablabla ;) ), but there's few if any goals that beats that. Has everything a goal needs, great buildup, great assist and great finish. That assist from Pele man, he just knows exactly where to lay the ball.

Rivelino starting it off by doing his trademark move to school two defenders, and then the sequence from there is just football porn.

Yeah, it's that bit that makes it for me. I've seen goals that are comfortably better, but not in a World Cup Final.

and Pele's lay off is so fucking disrespectful. No courtesy grease for that one.

The ultimate in the zip off the turf shot that goal in 70. After the ridiculously laid back assist by Pele. He was  the first of the famous attacking Brazilian full backs that we've seen down the years. Clear innovator to the likes of Junior, Josimar, Cafu and Roberto Carlos. RIP.

Aye I meant to put one of the first but got distracted by the telly. Nilton was definitely the first, and Carlos Alberto followed him. But there's been so many brill ones down the years.
