I don't know if it's even possible to judge sans visuals. I know I can't. But getting a win, away from home, in this league is pretty much great f***ing stuff. Those injuries have decimated us, though. We need to buy buy buy. Just catching up. Hilarious/pathetic amount of this stuff in the thread after they equalised. I know we've not being playing well recently but people are desperate to be negative. Actually sounded like quite an entertaining match today, haven't seen the highlights yet. Great result, again. Sounds like we rode our luck but f*** it I don't care. Good to see THE WORST SIGNING IN THE WORLDTM score again too. Fully agree on the negativity. It's embarrassing and knee jerk. If you'd listened to it you'd understand like POOT is obviously right in that without seeing the game we really cannot be critical of the performance, it's half guess work, but listening to that match was probably the most brutal of the season so far. Dave Posted January 14, 2017 Share Posted January 14, 2017 Just seen the highlights, we created plenty enough which is a marked improvement. Two really nice goals we scored, good to see Perez making a contribution. Defensively we still seem shaky, hopefully it's a knock-on effect from our iffy form and we'll get a bit of confidence and swagger back when Shelvey returns and we can look forward to bossing matches a bit more. If you'd listened to it you'd understand like POOT is obviously right in that without seeing the game we really cannot be critical of the performance, it's half guess work, but listening to that match was probably the most brutal of the season so far. The match sounded anything but entertaining Radio is basically the worst way to take in a match IMO. Well, certainly ours seems to be. It should be partisan but it's normally ridiculously negative about us in my experience. I've actively avoided it for yonks. Considering the injuries to our frontline strikers and then having to chuck a central defender into midfield it really was massive, especially since our 3rd and 4th choice strikers won us the game late on. It sounded pretty dire tbh, but you can't really go off what the Radio Newcastle commentators are saying. I've seen games where we have been totally in charge and Ando will be moaning. U2 Posted January 14, 2017 Share Posted January 14, 2017 I can't speak for others but when I'm following games using the radio, I'm usually ignorantly spewing out my most basic of feelings/responses going off what little information I have. Anyway, Brentford had more of the ball, more efforts, more efforts on target, more corners and at least 2 big claims for a penalty (allegidly). I can certainly empathise with those who were - in hindsight - overly negative through the 90-odd minutes today's match thread. People who come in later having not followed the game through the same media talking about being embarrassed are very OTT. Ando is a negative cunt, but that isn't even his biggest issue. Not going to quote posts, but there were a lot more than one person making definitive judgements about exactly how bad we were playing without seeing a thing of it. Anyway, this is getting boring.
