Guest neesy111
that attempted save by the preston player cracked us up Bit of karma, as he scored a winner up here during his Blackburn days, where he blatantly punched the ball into the net. What goes around, comes around. Recognised the name, didn't think it was actually him. It was him, 0-1 defeat around christmas time in 03/04 season. One of many ruined Boxing Days. Shepherd's 'Rolls Royce' quotage followed that game, iirc.

bigfella
Ah man, The Animals, "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" over the closing titles... The greatest band to come from the North East...I'm getting quite emotional here
Yorkie
That was fantastic tonight, like. Even when Preston scored, I didn't feel like we were out of control and I was still certain we'd win. There wasn't much creativity in the first half but we really forced the issue after the break, and I thought we were well worth the convincing victory. The place was bouncing between 60-75 minutes and the finale with everyone out on the pitch was tremendous; Rafa's reception was particularly marvellous. It still really irks how (a significiant percentage of) the crowd are incapable of withholding their raucous criticism - like they did tonight for a five/ten-minute spell in the first half - but on the whole it was fantastic and I'm so pleased I got a ticket. That being said, I missed a goal for the first time tonight because the ticket collection took fucking AGES. There were chumps stood at the little windows for more than two/three minutes in some cases, so Christ knows what was going on in there. Lessons learned there anyway. But aye, brilliant win and a brilliant moment at the end. They fully deserve the promotion cos all of them have worked their bollocks off.
AyeDubbleYoo
Yeah, the whinging in the crowd is ridiculous at times. I hope we remember how to support the team next season, we'll need to. Great night overall though.

It's just the groaning at every mistake that's idiotic. And not only that, even moaning at too many short passes and stuff like that. Mad.

Not an ounce of patience in spite of the fact we were in total control and simply trying to break them down, with no decent striker on the pitch. Didn't last too long, thankfully, because the second half was great to be a part of.
