Other clubs' transfers

Instead of just saying basically 'he's not that good you're wrong' and then quibbling over semantic definitions, it might be helpful to actually have some reasons as to why he's not that good and people are wrong. Would probably make the discussion a bit more productive.

‘Stats’ are rotting our brains.  I’ve sat and watch them both for years, year in year out and never have I thought Bruno Fernandes was as good as prime KDB as a footballer. Never. It doesn’t pass the eye test   Fernandes might have better stats than Eden Hazard, Hazard was a better player and it’s not close.

Haaland can score 50 goals, he’s not as good as Cristiano.  Cristiano can score 200 goals, he was never as good as Messi.

I've sat and watched Bruno Fernandes for years too mate, a lot of the time from 30 feet away. I've also had the pleasure of watching De Bruyne in the flesh on multiple occasions.

Nobody is arguing Fernandes is better than De Bruyne, but De Bruyne is a phenomenal footballer who's one of the best midfielders we've ever seen in England.

Saying KDB is better than Bruno doesn't back up your ridiculous claims that 1) Bruno isn't elite and 2) we won't even miss him that much.

Phenomenal's better than absolutely outstanding right?

who said Bruno was as good as KDB? I never did. (Genuine question btw as I joined this debate late)

Kinda makes sense that someone would have more assists passing the ball to a goalscorer instead of a traffic cone though, yeah?

Talking about ability as a player - I find goals and assists 2dimensional.  G/A we can act like Fernandes is on the same level as a KDB or Hazard. But ability? It’s not close. Prime Wilson was a bagsman, never near Isak’s ability.

Fernandes at his best was inevitable.  He’ll do something that counts. But he’s a level below Eden Hazard - who could light a game up and not score or assist at all.  Or even get particularly close.

In my opinion arguably the best midfielder ever in the league.

And Fernandes' stats compare very favourably to De Bruyne since he came to England.

Gentle reminder that one was assisting Haaland and Aguero and the other had Rasmus Hojlund and Wout Weghorst.

This suggests to me all that is stopping Bruno being held in KDB regard is Man U’s strikers over the years.
