If he hadn't of fucked off to Manure that time because he didn't want to stay and fight for his place then maybe I'd feel a bit more sorry for him. But a guy who does that AND earns more money in a year than I'll ever earn in my life can get to fuck.

 

I read this a lot but there was no "fighting for the shirt". He had a strong second half of the season when Howe first arrived, did nothing wrong, then Pope replaced him. It was the right decision and like you say, "that's football", but this line that he should have fought for a spot he was never winning just doesn't wash.

Sorry but Eddie is Ruthless. And we need him to be. We didnt have a decent back up and who knew if Pope would come back in time. But Nicks the better goalkeeper and we won the final.
