Don’t know a lot about this guy but from what I have seen/heard/read I think he could be a useful squad member at least while we’re building the squad. Let’s get better players in before we let go of him

Its fine if you are new to supporting the club. Welcome! He is frustrating. Always injured. Someone who was basically the only reason I watched the matches a few seasons ago. He's extremely talented and on his day he is unmarkable. One of the only players who has skinned Kyle Walker. His commitment has been questionable at times. He seems to want to dribble a player over and over again. Doesnt always do a good job getting back and helping out the fullback behind him. Mind you its Dan Burn who he has to cover most times and he's a LB that does require quite a bit of help and offers very little going forward.

With all that being said...hes made some strides in the past season. He has really worked hard in his limited appearances at the end of the season. I dont think we can replace him for the price we are likely to get for him. He is very well suited to CL football.

Personally I'd be pretty gutted if we sold him. I'd like us to give him a chance this season to show his adjustments in mentality, work rate and hopefully he can stay injury free.

‘Work in silence, they will know soon’.

For anyone wondering what he’s just posted.

That could just mean he's working really hard and will let his football do the talking this season tbh.

We will have dangerous people all over the pitch soon who can hurt other teams and they won't triple mark him anymore. He will thrive on that.

He's actually been very dangerous for us, just our players don't put their chances away. He could be on 10 assists last season!

It's scary watching his highlights, just player after player blazing easy chances over the bar

What's he done to deserve the bad attitude label?

I think last year he was unlucky with injuries, but he still contributed and looked great at times. He tore City/Kyle Walker a new one in the home game. His volley against Wolves was unreal. I don't want to lose anyone with quality just yet, but if next season is injury plagued like the last one I'd then believe moving him on maybe best for everyone.

Rotation and more games with a better squad could lead to much better season for ASM.

25 appearances - 1 goal and no assists, didn’t contribute that much in my opinion.

To get an assist, the person that receives the ball has usually got to put the ball in the back of the net and unfortunately, we've also hit the post more than any other team!

I still have faith!

This is true - when we were playing Everton and that protester chained himself to the post, I was thinking that’s the last place you want to be when we’re playing.

Me too, I’m sure the coaching staff are aware of how good those numbers are.

Just wish I knew about those bandages

Id genuinely want to see him play right side and combine with Trippier. The two of them could be deadly. Also half space interplay with Bruno and Tonali could be deadly. Left side of Willock and Joelinton providing that more powerful and direct running.

So who beat his man and crossed the ball for Wilson for first goal west ham (1-5)

And who headed it across to willock to score against man utd?

Who tore a hole in the man city back line and thread it through for Wilson to score?

These are just off the top of my head like....

Forest - was heavily involved in both goals

Man city - provided the cross for almiron, set up Wilson and got brought down for the freekick that trippier scored (ALL 3 goals!)

Scored v wolves

Set first 3 games of the season he was directly involved with EVERY goal! Scoring 1 and 3 assists.

Then he got injured......which unfortunately means no assists whilst he's not playing.

So after Maxi came back from injury he had a direct goal involvement for the OG v Brentford 5-1 , hardly got on the pitch after that until coming on and setting Bruno up for 1-4 Southampton.

He came off the bench again at 0-0 v Fulham and we immediately scored.

He then had an outstanding goal involvement v Bournemouth

I could go on but there's not much point.

Sorry guys but by this point and especially in terms of minutes on the pitch he's sounding quite valuable.

But suppose he'll always be a lazy bastard who does nothing

Yeah, a few sources running this. Nothing really reliable though. If a Saudi club offers anything in the region of £35m+, I’d sell. Contract running down, and if he’s injury plagued this season, we won’t get anywhere near this fee next summer. A Wolves fan of mine sees this situation similar to Adama Traore. They should have sold two years ago, instead he’s just left for nothing. FFP regret right there.

He came on at half time v Fulham. Scored in last minute.
