Imagine setting the bar at not losing to a promoted team after spending 100s of millions. I'm asking a lot I know. So ungrateful.

I understand your sentiment but I think it's a wee bit knee jerk personally. I don't think the mackem game makes or breaks our season tbh.

Loads of glaring weaknesses from Howe, but all are over looked for me due to the good he's done. This is unforgiveable for me. Just the way I feel. He should feel the same. If should mean that much to him.

The 2 most recent games we’ve chucked have seen us score 2 goals, how many goals do we need to be in front so we don’t drop our arses?

The top teams see games out simple as.

Bet you’re fun to go for a pint with. Actually perhaps give @Dokko a ring, you’ll bring the positive energy.

Cmon man, We've obviously been rocky this season but we aren't that far off where we need to be. A bit of perspective is required I think. It's just one game and in pretty sure it's very important to him, he's not daft he knows what this game means.

I'd have a app your hands off for a draw before and at HT. Good point, even with another late concede.

Lose to the mackems though and I'm done with him. Time for a change. Hopefully we can scrape a draw. Will need to be 2 up though for that to happen.

This is probably bait, but i'll bite...

Got two Champions League runs, saved us from certain relegation, completely transformed the side, plays in an attractive front foot way, countless amazing perormances and results, some of the best in a generation, has us in good form having only lost once in 6, and has us only 3 points off a Champions League spot, in the quarter final of the League Cup, and in a position where we are basically guaranteed to progress to our first ever Champions League knockout stage, and WON a fucking cup.

But yeah, sure, get one arbitrary bad result and thats it, its over, sack him.

I mean you're leaving out we beat man city, unbeaten in last 4 prem games with 10 from 12 points, only team to beat Everton in their last 5 games and we did it convincing - all this whilst juggling a CL campaign and another cup run.

We can both zoom in on individual factors too prove a point, I get you think he may not be the best manager out there but there's definitely much worse, the grass isn't always greener.

He's the best we've had in ages, but has hit a ceiling and we'll bob along with him, have our moments. I'm happy with that, but losing to the mackems with this squad is unacceptable.

Losing to the Mackems will bring about the standard criticism, but it isn’t even our biggest game coming in the next week.  I don’t like losing to them down the road any less than anyone, and will get the standard anxiety the night before, but in context it doesn’t make or break our week never mind our season.

Add he has delivered our best ever defensive performance in a season conceding 0.87 goals per game, his teams have scored more goals than Keegan’s, second best ever in terms of points per game etc etc.

I'm going to be argumentative here - I don't know if you're referring to last CL game or upcoming derby. If it was CL game, was that a bad result? Imo it was a decent draw.

I was on about the Sunderland game, yesterday was a good point, if annoying due to the late equalizer.

How do you know he’s hit a cieling? Like the one last season? And the season before that? We had our best season in ages last one. But we’ve hit our ceiling every season under him since 22-23 according to you. You’d save time if you just copy and pasted your previous posts.

This is the same mackems that are unbeaten against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool this season - don't be an idiot with throwing words like "unacceptable" around FFS. It'll hurt for obvious rivalry reasons but that's about it.

I think one aspect which I am slightly disappointed about in general is we aren't the team we fell in love with. That high energy jugganaught That steamrolled teams. In fact we a are a bit of a shadow of that. It does feel like we have lost some of our Identity which I do find concerning personally.

Agreed. I get we have to transition into something else as we have more games and teams play differently agaisnt us now, but had hoped it would be something better.

This is my worry, far too many fans throwing every single toy out of the pram if we lose on Sunday. We might actually win but yes it’d be very disappointing if we lost, but you move on and the season can still be a success. Sunday I think is a redline for many though, if Howe loses it, they’ll be calling for his head.

To be fair, even though it has been a rocky season so far, I bet 99% of you would take this back at late Jul when we have done fuck all in the transfer market and suffering from the rat saga everyday.

Howe definitely has rooms for improvement but there are also something  he definitely deserves a lot of praise. Woltemade fitting in ranks #1 to me.

I would say I am pleased with his work done so far, although I agree a lose against the mackems would be a PR disaster.

I think that's fair measured criticism but I do think we need to be patient. Eddie deserves that support from us.

If I was in charge (obviously I'm not just nailing my colours to the mast) id expect us to qualify for Europe again I think that's where we should be. Failing that he's safe as long as we finish top half. If we were to finish bottom half I'd be considering my options.

They underestimated them. It's unacceptable we do the same. This game should mean the world. Clear to see from fans on here it's not even the most important game of the month. Crackers. Must not have to put up with them day in day out, giving it big licks, full of themselves.

my guess is Bunce told Howe not to do that regularly in order to protect the players from injuries, and this is reserved for very important matches like the league cup final. Somehow I just feel once Bunce arrived we stopped that high energy pressing for 90mins, but we did it again in that final
