That was absolutely abysmal in game management from Howe. Honestly, genuinely pathetic. I’m so angry. Tonali and Wolte were absolutely shattered. You saw it coming a mile off and it’s not the first time either.

The problem is if he had taken Tonali off and we conceded you (or others) would be raging about taking off the engine of our team.

Lost 1 in the last 6 and even in that game we should have got something.

Doing a great job eddie. :pow:

Going well in the Champions league, quarter final of the league cup and 3 points off "title challengers" Chelsea.

Cant say im surprised about how this man keeps knocking it out of the park.

Impressed at how he changed the game at half time, we were comfortably the better team that half and should've been 4-1 up were it not for the post. Good performance and a good point all things considered, frustrating as it is to concede late again

Our mentality when we take the lead is a massive problem that he needs to solve, assuming it isn't instructional to drop back. Before our second goal and after their equaliser we were 10-15 yards further up the pitch.

We're completely incapable of playing our way out once we sit in and have zero concentration, so if it is instructional, it's suicidal.

Don't think he helped himself today with those late subs either as others have said, that was just bizarre.

Not sure what it is, a lack of ruthlessness in general, but we never ever seem to capitalize on periods of domination anymore, or very rarely, like we did in past seasons. We'd go a goal up and always be looking for the second and then a third. Losing count of the games we've missed more than decent chances in and left it tight and then it's a weak mentality thing or lack of confidence mixed with tiredness, that we're conceding late in games. Thought we should have won tonight though and it's a decent result overall, just the usual frustration when you concede late and draw a game you should win.

This thread post full time is so very bi-polar

Its just because some cant control their emotions when we concede a goal or dont get the result they want.

Step back for one second and it's a decent result and a decent performance. Could have got more but we are in a good spot.

Think a big part is that we don't have a talismanic goal scorer anymore. Hopefully Wissa gets up to speed soon

It takes a bit of pressure off the final games, because we are likely already in the playoffs. We are in a good place in the CL.

Lets ignore all that though and start questioning him eh?

Agreed and I couldn't work out why he didn't get more minutes tonight. Thought we did more than enough to win second half though and they're not a bad side at all.

Whilst I completely agree with your general point, we didn't drop back tonight, the last ten minutes were incredibly end to end.

I think we still lack lethal goal scorers to finish teams off and there’s the Achilles heel of us getting edgy at the end of matches when we haven’t killed teams off. Plus Eddie could probably be a bit more proactive rather than reactive.

Very happy with that second half performance, unlucky not to have scored more than two. Think the equalizer was just a good goal too, Tonali could've done better but can't blame him too much. It's just a fact that a good home team down a goal is going to push up in the final minutes, don't think we consciously sat back tonight.

All boils down to our striker. Not even close to being his fault that he's been thrown in and played into the ground, mind.
