If we lose against Fulham, what then?

We move to Chelsea - “This could really help us kick on blah blah” rinse and repeat

Its been pretty much consistent from Aug to Dec - I don’t see how we turn this - there’s nothing that brings me any hope

I love him. Gave me my best ever day as a NUFC fan.

But…………..that was wholly unacceptable today and his words post match weren’t much better.

I’m absolutely fuming.

If starting Elanga wasn’t bad enough, looking at the bench and opting for Joe pissing Willock blows my fucking mind.

His lowest moment for me today.

Appalling. Shameful. Disgraceful.

Don't think this applied to Gordon, he raised his game noticeably when Barnes was playing well and starting.

Not for long admittedly

I honestly think all of our wingers need a good at themselves. I can give Murphy the most leeway but even then he's been queationable recently.

I think even competing in the PL is a major achievement for Murphy TBH, but I agree.

You say that..but he's performed for us for a longer period than Gordon.

Agreed. I’d happily ship all four of them tbh. Elanga first on the list.

Our PL defeats

Liverpool

Arsenal

Brighton

West Ham

Brentford

Mackems

Bar Liverpool where we were really unlucky - the rest were soft defeats - completely avoidable

Spurs H, Leeds A, Bournemouth A - should have done better - games where there to be won

This season could have turned out so much better

I think Howe will get this full season but it could be a new manager for next season. Especially if it’s a mid table finish and out of all cups.   Feels like he’s maybe taken us as far as he can, we look awful across the park. Definitely going backwards.

I think we'll continue to have an up and down season, at least until we're out of the CL. We're just not good enough to be relied on in so many big games every few days.

He's rotated a lot and made changes but I don't think he's quite got it right

Last time in the CL he couldn't rotate due to all the injuries

This time he's tried but think he's not quite managed to get it right

Ideally you to want at most change 2-3 players but do it gradually so it doesn't feel like major changes but everyone still gets the rest to avoid burnout

With Howe this season it doesn't feel as planned, feels more reactionary and a bit all over the place

I think he'll learn from this and be better for it long term

It was about this time last year we said that too...

We lost our best player very late in the window and none of the attacking signings have really pulled up any trees. I don't think a bad season necessarily means we're 'going backwards'. Nobody can guarantee constantly finishing higher than the previous year without any setbacks.

He gets the summer and probably all of next season no matter what for me, barring a ridiculously bad start or player revolt etc.

Course he does. Aside from anything else, a) who would replace him - who we could get and b) is there anyone who could progress us under the same financial restrictions? No.

Anyways. Why would you want to. EDDIE IS OUR KING.

Elanga was absolutely Eddie's man mind. That signing alone is beginning to look unforgivable

Maybe, but even if we knew that it's not sackable. Elanga could well have been expected to perform much better than he has so far. So would Ramsey. And I'm sure the idea was to rely much more on the proven Wissa and less on Woltemade.
