Wolfcastle
A melancholic response to decline is less supportive than letting them know this isn't good enough. Its not just booing after some bad defeat or performance (though some people do feel you automatically boo after every loss) otherwise it'd would have been happening all season. Cant think of any set of fans in the world that wouldn't have people booing after being beaten by their local rivals compounding what's been a well below the lowest of expectations season. Most places would be far worse

Fans have evey right to let the team know that's not good enough. Want to think themselves lucky they don't play somewhere like Italy where they'd likely have been confronted on the training ground. Our fans reaction was pretty mild compared to how it would have been in other places. So you're saying we weren't trying? We weren't good enough on the day mate it's as simple as that. Zero
Being done a double by a promoted team is already bad enough, and it’s the Scum. Seriously? How can you blame those who boo the team on Sunday?
Virtua Stiva
Booing is what kids do at a pantomime, man. They’ll know full well that it wasn’t good enough without resorting to that

Always has been. Sunday was absolutely disgusting and the players and Howe should be made aware of how unacceptable losing to them is, especially in the manner we did. I actually thought the reaction was quite mild given how bad we were following on from how bad we were against them just a few months ago.
Kid Icarus
Think the horse has long since bolted on boos being based on lack of effort and not the result. Just another modern game thing that you expect everywhere tbh.

Yeah, I was as pissed off as anyone on Sunday and didn't boo or applaud. I just left at FT in silence swearing away in my head at the bullshit I'd just witnessed. The silence treatment. Mike
People aren't going to not go after investing so much so booing is the only feedback left for fans. The seats will rarely if ever be empty. They deserved to be booed this week, no matter how fond we are of them.

Different in other countries. Whistling in places like Italy for example, white hankies in Spain etc.
Zero
You can choose not to boo, it’s your choice. But for this week, after two shocking derby performance, people have every right to boo.

Your implying that they didn't try. I didn't see that at all in the performance (as shite and frustrating as it was) I was more downbeat after that game than any other that I can remember but not at one point if I was there I would have sounded off like that. But I'm certainly not more pissed off about the booing than the result that's for sure.

Did any of our players even pick up a yellow card for an over zealous challenge?

DC Magpie
I admit I never thought to boo at my television, but my reaction to the 90' goal was a very loud "you've got to be kidding, we fucking did it again".
Sir Joel Inton
Find it mad that people are suggesting there was no evidence of a lack of effort. Watch Willock on the 2nd goal and compare to say Joelinton who at one stage ran the length of the pitch to put a tackle in. Barnes and Gordon on several occasions shirked a 50/50 challenge and lost the ball. Mackems won that game by bringing down the quality deficit by wanting it more. They were in every tackle, winning 50/50s and battling for everything. We tried to outclass them, many have failed to do that against weaker teams, hence the “Stoke away” narrative. It was a poor game plan, poor team selection and some players (not all) had a poor level of effort. ”Don’t boo after losing back to back Derby matches because it will put off world class managers from joining us”. Fuck off.

NUFC - 8 fouls mackems - 19 fouls NUFC - 69% of tackles won mackems - 82% of tackles won (and more attempted)
Robster
I just think that given what the players, manager and coaches have given over the last 3 months, with barely a pause to take a breather, a little consideration may have been given. No one is denying that we have every right to be utterly fucked off, we are are/were, but just some consideration for what the players have done this season is fair. The game fell at the wrong time, right at the end of a brutal string of fixtures.
