Arsenals stock was low, Maresca lasted less than 2 years, De Zerbi what project is he managing? Kompany was a wild appointment but it’s worked out. Amorim was a major error, Slot is getting fired. I think clubs like Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea need proven managers or they get eaten alive by the press.

Maybe pre-Klopp Liverpool but absolutely no way now. Something that 100% would have been said about their current managers before they went there. Something that was said about Arsenal's most successful manager ever when he went there. It was still being said for most of the first few years of Arteta's time at Arsenal. Look at how crazy Kompany to Bayern looked. Slot was in no way an established elite manager either and came in straight after Klopp. I'm not saying Howe would go to a club that level either btw, just that the idea that it's somehow out of the question runs counter to some of the appointments those clubs have made. For me only Pep and Emery are elite in the PL. How is he in the market? Harvey Elliot and Sancho doing much? Hold on though, we're not talking about whether they were successful, we're talking about whether big clubs hire them. All of those clubs have hired them, Chelsea are currently managed by Liam Rosenior Edited April 13 by Kid Icarus

He has never managed in the cl before us yet we nearly got through the group of death and we was 30 minutes away from the last 8 with a weaker squad then the likes of super pep etc have... Or, we won 1 game and finished bottom of the group, and were utterly humiliated against Barca after their manager changed things at half time. I think some people are massively overestimating how he is thought of outside of Newcastle. I’d be utterly shocked if Liverpool were to consider him, and their fans certainly wouldn’t be happy. TheEntertainer
I think there's a world where Liverpool could consider him, he's worked well with Isaak before and they have been succesful with high tempo pressing football, I'd be amazed if any of the other 'Big 5' went for him. He can be simultaneously a good manager who could do a job somewhere else and also someone who has come to the end of his tenure here. As has been mentioned multiple times in this thread, it's rare for a manager to last longer than a couple of years in modern football.

I think Howe is too respectful to go to Liverpool given the animosity we have for them tbf.

I don't think many people are, I think the vast majority are saying he's been brilliant, a significant number are now saying it's a massive shame but it seems like it's not working anymore and we should think about parting ways for the best of both parties, with no animosity and enormous gratitude for what he's achieved. Obviously there's the odd person, but that's definitely not the majority.

Hounding out is harsh, accepting he did a great job but it’s time for a change is probably how most fans feel. Same with SBR when we finished 5th. Would leave as a club legend, probably only behind Keegan for me in my life time.

Johny4317
Howe could easily end up at a top club because of his work over the past 2 decades, not the last 6 months! I think before the Isak saga Liverpool could’ve been a real option given his 2 friends call the shots there! Chelsea currently have a manager with a fraction of his CV, spurs could easily be in the market again within 18 months! The disrespect of Howe and ignoring his standing in the game is similar to people saying Gordon is rubbish 6 months ago and are now surprised he’s linked to Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern etc As a club we need a reset and some ruthless decisions with the squad! I’d have him over cheque book manager like Jose to build a squad and go again
