Well yes but the version of Elanga and Wissa we've got is not the version we scouted and bought.

I don't think we've even seen enough of wissa to know what we've bought. His backside has either been on the treatment table or firmly planted on the bench.

'Scouting for a Howe team'.

Isn't that what we have with the likes of Elanga, Thiaw, Wissa, etc...?

We'll do it with Ross Wilson taking instruction now presumably.

He'll be best known this season for congratulating the opposition after they've beaten us.

Exchanging shirts with the dude who just bent your mama over the kitchen sink too don’t forget. Letting him wearing it off the pitch backwards like a trophy. It’s an important part of the tradition. Whether you played or not.

Au contraire. I’ve seen enough of Wissa. We can’t get rid of him fast enough. finances be damned.

And not coming out to warm up at all last week, still annoyed by it.

Completely. Although better as wheezing ballbag Taylor Payne isn’t on it.

Thanks, so nothing we don't know already and nothing ground breaking.

Eddie Howe on the absence from NUFC XI of Nick Woltemade & Yoane Wissa...

🗣️ “Like with every player not playing they have to show their worth on the training ground and I think that’s their shop window.

🗣️ "For me to pick them is how they train and how they commit to the training, and how much they are prepared to put individual disappointment to the side for the team to then come back fighting again. It’s a gradual process, but I believe in both players still.

🗣️ "I’ve got no issue with either of them. I think they’ve got unique qualities to offer the team but it’s got to be on merit and deserved.”

I wonder if the board will take responsibility for the losses we are going to take on those two if they aren't here next season?

Generally speaking, a good Sporting Director will recruit coaches and players with a specific style in mind to provide continuity and prevent huge amounts of upheaval.

It’s a collective shit show from all involved

The person who signed off Wissa deal - if still at the club should be sacked

The person who signed off Woltermade deal - if still at the club should be sacked

I am not bothered if time was running out in the market - how in gods name can you not work that you are paying way over the odds for these players - it’s damn right negligence

I don't think the issue is paying over the odds for the players, more that they're not deemed good enough to play for the team.

Do we think Wissa would’ve flopped if he hadn’t fucked his knee just after he signed?

Hard to say obviously, but would have to be considered if you were sacking people.

It’s still no excuse for how disinterested he seems though.

Howe came out and said not having a preseason (which happened because Wissa was an unprofessional arse) is what fucked him.  So according to the manager who vastly overpaid for him - a fee only potentially worth it for instant results - he was never going to hit the heights because he didn’t do what was needed, and signed him anyway.  Then he fucked his knee.

Not sure this one can be waved away with ‘bad luck’.  At least not according to the manager.

I don’t see how his position (being dropped) under Howe changes now , I really don’t - I don’t think the manager knows how to use him

It might be a collective shitshow, but someone has to take ultimate responsibility for it. If Howe is backed again in the transfer market, then it might be an admission that the board got it wrong.
