For those in the US it's on YouTube.

And yes hanging on right now.

Some passengers in the midfield though. Need to make some subs as the team looks imbalanced with some grafters and some walking.

Have had a couple of chances in transition but not enough pushing forward.

Goalkeeper and defense were brilliant.

Midfield needs serious work. Partially technical setup, partially fitness, and partially plain quality.

Upfront they had some chances, a little more clinical and they could have robbed them.

Palace looked a different level most of the game. Their defense did not look particularly strong.

We don't get to catch many nufc women's games here in the US so was fun for the kids to watch.

The lack of quality overall with the signings made in the summer and January transfer windows is highly noticeable. McQuade has struggled after a promising start and I don't know what Andrews does as she seems like a virtual statue most of the time. That Blanchard of Palace was running the show and nothing was done by the manager to try and stop that.

  • 2 weeks later...

It's great to see it filling up but I don't understand the biggest game narrative they're pushing (unless they mean prospectively biggest but not yet; or biggest in the sense of the importance and level of the game).  They had 22k vs Alnwick, and 28k vs Barnsley.

edit

Oh, league record. I see

They'll probably open another block but only 195 tickets left available.

Was just under 300 when I checked around lunch time.

Two section of the upper Gallowgate now opened.

There needs to be a radical shake up in my opinion. Having 22 games a season means there are 3-4 week gaps between matches and it just doesn't work. There are 12 teams in the wsl and 11 in the championship and after that there is north and south. Although a lot of teams would need additional funding the only way to grow the women's game would be to have at least two 18 team national leagues and have it supported by either the TV companies, the FA or the premier league.

Preventing fixture clashes of both the men and women, like this weekend, doesn't help either.

Until there is a 36 game league and has proper TV marketing it will struggle. I love watching the lasses but 10 games on my season ticket and missing 2 for men's clashes is ridiculous over a 9 month season.

I agree on the need for a rapid expansion and look forward to that.

But I don’t think I can get on board with no relegation from WSL to WSL2 in the initial stages. It’s an interesting one though, would be good for the game if it encouraged more investment.

Incredibly Sky changing the Mens Man Utd match to the Sunday means it now clashes with the lasses. Third time this season.

I’d like to think that a new stadium for us would have 4 changing rooms so that we can host both the women’s and men’s games back to back.

It would also help for things such as Magic weekend, maybe a union version, and what I would call Non-League weekend at SJP where multiple local Non/League teams play here over the international break weekend.

Fuck it, let’s also get back to back NFL games going.

And bringing Zorb racing back at half time

Fuck that.

I’d rather they continue to somehow select the only people in the crowd who have never actually played football to go on the pitch and try and kick the ball onto a scoring mat.

Unfortunately I don't think many will be watching it. I don't like watching two games, when the men's team are playing (In particularly such a crucial game) as I like to fully concentrate on the men's team. Probably too late notice due to it being a cup game and the travel for the City team and fans, but an ideal kick off time for the ladies team would have been 11am.

Yea, I would watch it but not head to head with the mens team. In general, it's been harder to watch them in the US since they were promoted so I haven't seen anywhere near the games I saw last year.
