Says in here that Amy Andrew's has announced she's leaving. Missed that but not surprised. Also talks about her being better on the wing than upfront, which I've also said. That makes three leavers that are known and the retain list is due out any time.

Blackburn have pulled out of the league, so now another club needs to be found ahead of the new season, otherwise we’ll have a situation with an odd number of teams again.

Probably the same as Reading - money. Trouble at Wolverhampton also, as the club didn't put the application form in to join the championship. The players were only told before their last game and so they played the whole season for nothing. The lasses seemingly are disgusted by this, so Wolves may have to find a whole new team. Again they reckon it's due to money.

I suppose not every team can invest in the lasses like Newcastle are. Man U from what Ratcliff said seems to care not at all about them. Be upfront well before you drop a bomb if you feel they can't be funded. Seems like a longer term vision would be to support the lasses and what the competition can become and already is compared to the past.

I think the owners are totally committed to the lasses team and like the men's team, they want to see them competing at the top end of all competitions. I did wonder when Staveley left, if the same commitment would be shown, but this is certainly not the case thankfully. The latest news that a new Director of Women's Football is being appointed, backs this up also. I think we will see a big upgrade in the level of player being signed this summer.
 

Last season, the signings were of mainly mid table championship level and we needed more players of a higher level. As above I expect this to change this summer. As I've said a few times before I am not convinced if the current manager is at the level we require, but I certainly hope she proves me wrong this season coming.

The league are implementing big changes. All the teams have to be fully professional and employ a, for woman's football at this level, fairly extensive staff (with set positions - e.g. team doctor, Director of Football etc.) It's linked to the Championship becoming WSL2 (as an attempt to bring a more professional structure to woman's football ... separate from the men's club (if attached to one) / the men's governing body). Blackburn have claimed they don't have the money to do it. Members of Blackburn's woman's team, supported by many others in the woman's game and our own player, have publicly called 'bullshit' on it.
